When people see we go the extra mile to take care and respect their nice homes and belongings, they always appreciate it. No other place to park, I felt my exhaust was a little close to the car. put up a plastic shelf with a towel so I didn't cause any problems.

House was treated just as well, and this was the tip.

Super nice people too, not what you would think. People love a step above mediocrity.

Your chqrges better be profitable to you cause if your being nice and giving the client a cheap price in Exchange for their loyalty, you will have trained them to become disloyal the moment you realize you ain’t making money for being nice, so you raise your prices on them and they will think you are ridiculous with the new price.

I would dare to believe only less then 1% of carpet cleaning clients are genuinely loyal customers. Lots of cheapskates out here. Just take a peek on the community boards like nextdoor.com and read the posters looking for service of some sort and notice the key words they write when needing services —> “reasonable prices, affordable….they want great service for Pennie’s on a dollar.

For me, yes times can be tough with cost of living sky rocketing but I am no longer interested in being a hero life saver to give you great service for Pennie’s on a dollar. I will do that for some senior citizens when I am moved within to do so.

Thats what makes the world go round. I dont think twice, I always do my best job I can do. It is definatley not a business plan. It is a lifestyle that got me enough to raise a family, with no vacations, no toys except a nice Bow.
I do not recommend anybody do this. You wont make money like you could if you wanted to make money. Its easier than a lot of other things to me. Its all I got, besides my fam. Today I couldn't move the bed so on my belly. Do this before you prespray.

I do ok. Not a lowballer by any means. They waited a month to get me. I had to go to Mikeyfest SD.

I aslo agree with you. I learned not to give a discount, because then it is always "Same as last year, right?" Then 5 yrs later its still the same as the last. Hard to get out of that once you hook them up the first time. IF I do, and my wife gets pissed at me, I charge and then discount and show them, tell them I cant always do this but it just worked out like that today.

Also it is impossible to train a tech to do this stuff. And I am getting past my prime. That is why I am changing and learning new things and I do listen to posts like this and learn from yall.

I disagree. If that is true, I have all the 1 percent of them in my area.
until a better price with same or better service comes their way.
carpet cleaners are considered a commodity. very few consumers value you. We all have those few that value you….we also all have the many that think of us as just another commodity carpet cleaner.

Could be more geographical when comes to loyalty. My customers are getting all kinds of cheaper offers and actually tell me about them and tell me "I would never use anyone else" quite often.
It is an art of scheduling all the repeat 5 stars and not miss them during the busy spring time, while new people randomly call. Just had a lady, been cleaning for since year 1, 1998. She had gold coins out on the card table. There was a nurse in the house taking care of her blind husband. I cautioned her about having valuables so present when a nurse and service guy are in your house at the same time.
She said, "you are not a service guy, your a friend". Thats how at least 50 percent of our base is and it is mutual. I love when he pays me. he hands me his wallet and reminds me he is blind and chuckles.

I throw in a huge tip for myself, lol, just kidding.

However I do see the commoditie value of a carpet cleaner sometiimes on random jobs I get where people call us out of the blue. It is the long time customers that do care.

Another typical day today. One of the most difficult loveseats, even though its microfiber. All them little corners. Couch was ez. Sectional even ez er. When I groomed them at the end, they did look real good. In the pics, so so.
