Today a PM sent me a job where a hot water heater leaked in a chiropractor’s office. I told the PM I could get out there tomorrow between 2 and 3pm.

So later today I got a call from the Chiropractor. She confirmed that I was coming tomorrow then hit me with a barrage of questions. “Are you a remediation company” “ Are you licensed to do flood work” “ my customers and I are sensitive to odors. What chemicals will you be using?” “Will you be bringing dehumidifiers?” “What about the water inside the walls”.

I politely explained to her that I wasn’t responsible for structural drying, just to get up the standing water out of the carpet. After her questions I saw the red flags 🚩 flapping in the wind. I bluntly told her that she is throwing up a lot of red flags and I don’t feel comfortable taking on this job. I told her I would call the PM and have them call a remediation to do the job.

When I said that I could hear the wind go out of her sails. She knew at that point she wasn’t getting any help.

She called me back and left me a voicemail apologizing for her tone. She then wanted me to call he back with a list of chemicals I would be using. Good grief.

Called the PM and told them about our conversation. I reluctantly declined the job but told them I was almost sure I would end up in court on this one. The PM agreed. They said this lady is very hard to deal with.

On a good note. I had a killer day cleaning for one of my Millionaire customers. She showed me her collection of woolly mammoth tusks. Quite impressive.

Wooly mammoth tusks, phallic symbols. She's trying to tell you something.

You should have asked her if she's a real doctor and licensed to give medical advice.

Most chiropractors act like they have an 8 year Harvard education
Man, fake doctors hate that…

I’ve noticed over the years that my real doctor customers don’t have “Dr.” in front of their names on checks.

Many of the phd and other fake doctors do.

How is the KLR better than the AT?
He’s dumb, that’s how.

He knows I bought an AT and sold it quickly after. I was looking for a bike to take cross country and also do some very light off-road. I sold the AT because I need something more suited for eating up miles, so I’m getting a BMW GS.

All good questions, she likely spoke to an actual restoration company before you were assigned the job by the property management company.

It is standard practice to provide an MSDS to the customer and get written permission to use an antimicrobial, plant-based or not.

That's what I thought with that line of questioning. Many restoration sites have those questions as info to customers that they should ask. They often show up in FAQ snippets in the search results too.

I wouldn't call her a red flag, more like Damon was under-equipped to do the job properly and it was smart to pass on it. The golden rule in restoration is the last contractor to do ANY work holds the liability. Carpet cleaners get sued from time to time for only extracting even with a hold harmless for not doing a full resto job. As do restoration companies who work to appease only the insurance companies instead of what's right for the customer.

How many OP machines did you try before buying the best?

and htf did you not know the the HAT was not a slab mile eater?
Lots of people use the African for long halls, I just decided I want something a little more comfy and something shaft driven.

KLR is like an Oreck orbiter.
