Those of you that have the prochem stair tool.... 16" or 22" and why?

It's a great tool, both lengths. It will never break or fail/last forever. I have the longer one(and always will).
However, not sure I would buy one again. The head is too small and makes a single tread/riser take like 20 strokes. The tools small head size makes it more work than it should be. At this point I'd rather use my wand and rip up my shoulder than fight the prochem and do 1k strokes on a staircase.
I'd try to find a larger/wider tool. He(hubby) will thank you!

x2... The head is too small, you minus well use your upholstery tool.... Almost the same size and you already have one.... I'd look into the PMF swivel Saigerized........

Personal preference, as usual.
I use the 6" PMF , short stair tool, that many here do not like.
I find it much easier on my back, as I clean on my knees keeping my back straight. Much better maneuverability in a tight space. It also allows me to do much better cleaning of the stair's nose, which is always the most soiled and damaged part of the stair.

22in, we had a PMF tool similar to what Saiger has and hated it. Really disliked having to use an adapter hose to fit the 2" and it was too light, didn't feel like it glided very easily.
We went to the Prochem about 3 years ago and all the guys really like it.
Although when I can I use a full size wand

Ofer stay off your knees and get a longer tool. Jordan ours has a 2-inch tube, yours was 1.5?
I liked the wand too that's why we went with the pmf cut down version Olsen sells.

If you like using a wand you'll love the 2-inch, long handle dual jet. I'll measure it and snap a couple of shots in the AM

Ok so here is the deal-doe.
A wider head just allows fewer passes and the longer handle (34-36 inches depending where you measure from) less bending. The 2-inch barrel means no hose whips, just use your regular vac hose.
It is also lighter gauge material which also helps but because it is lighter you have to be more careful not to ding it up than with the PC one, which is pretty much indestructible.
It makes cleaning steps tolerable, while much easier on your back. Although you will get a steam bath from the heat kick back because you are now flowing some good heat. A great trade off in my opinion but some of my guys prefer the wimpy tool for that reason.
The difference is incredible. I cannot go back, the PC tool now feels like a toy for a boy!
Much easier to process stairs now with the larger tool. I still look at them with some reluctance but once I start cleaning I realize its no longer the chore it once was.

Thanks for the advice...but since we WON the stair tool from the Pro Chem Trivia contest (Laura contacted me, but hasn't posted it here yet) we won't be considering alternate tools. We just need to figure out which length of the Pro Chem will work best for us.
Get the longer one...

I have a 36 inch and a 24 inch, I think the smaller one is easier to flip on the riser other then that the heads are the same.
