My boxxer has a briggs motor the judson uses the Kohler, my TM repair guy says the briggs will leak more then the Kohler's but the briggs will usually give you warning signs when they are going bad where as the Kohl's will just usually die on you with no warning signs, so i guess its just pick your poison
Or avoid the poison and spend $5-$7k more for a kubota. You’re financing it anyway so it’s just about $100 more/month

Not financing, if i buy new one i'll be paying cash, which TM has that Kubota engine actually this
the TCS Chief TM has a Honda motor which i like, Honda motor would be better then the briggs and Kohler motors i would think

TCS Chief Truckmount​

I had a custom built unit with an 18 HP Honda a few years ago. I got over 5000 hours on it before I decided to rebuild it. Only problem I ever had is one coil went bad. Was very reliable and always start right up. Paired with a 4 ml blower, it had decent suction.

Now the boxxer uses a heat exchanger which gets plenty hot and i've come to like it just fine, so the only question i have to ask myself is do i really want to or need to switch over to having to buy propane.
Do you really want to make a separate trip for an additional fuel source? I just actually sent my Little Giant to the junk pile when it probably only needed a thermocouple. It was on a dolly, and I don’t want to mess with it. I still use propane for buffers, and that sucks enough! The Little Giant would smoke, but so what.

I ran TCS TMs for years. I went away from them because I grew tired of buying propane, dealing with fume silt on my windows and having no room for my Cimex, RVs and Zippers. It’s not a very spacious system. However, its true advantage is its ease of maintenance and simplicity. I could find myself buying another in the future, but I’d really hate buying propane again.

Is that why you see some of those units with the l shaped exhaust blowing outwards

I grew to hate mine so quick I never experimented with that

Withou a way to also vent the propane heater exhaust outside just venting the engine exhaust outside is not enough. The heat buildup inside your van in the summer is enormous. It causes premature degradation of wiring and plastics. It also kills your engine over time.
