Red or white?

If a fresh spill of wine with no dye, rinse it out. Might need some oxy.

If cheap wine with dye: rinse, oxy, rinse, hot reducer, rinse.

We'd have been there within and hour BUT it would have cost them.

We have an On Call crew available 24/7, 7 days week 365 days a year but it's for restoration.

I hate being on call but will occasionally cover for someone that has a conflict with their schedule and can't trade it off.

Those are the worst calls, we get them when they spill a gallon of paint, jar of barbecue sauce, glass of wine, colored medicine. Three bottles? Geezz that would be bad.

Have her call her insurance agent, that looks like a lost cause.

The Insurance company may still want you to attempt it just to confirm it needs replaced.

At least it’s in the closet. I hope they did not track that all over the house.

You would have been there in no time to suck the wine (not in a traditional way) while it's still fresh, right?

And you'd call it a restoration.
Restoring the spirit my guess would be :winky:.

LOL

Last wine I drank was Boones Farm in High School.

I woke up feeling really bad afterwards, it was a Saturday morning and had to work with my father cleaning carpet. He made me clean 2-sets of steps with a hang over as punishment. Hot steam in the face, dry mouth, headache never touched the stuff afterwards. :errf:

Drank too much in my "club'n daze", went home with a wildabeast or two and finally figured out the only way to avoid that shock was to be clear of mind.

I don't drink much now days, a beer or two and I'm lit. :icon_redface:

Mikey, I took a similar call about 15 years ago in the middle of the night. This one was an entire case of wine that that the bottom broke out and 9 of the 12 bottles shattered on their white carpet. It's been so long, I can't remember what we did for that.

I came across this on a sailing forum and thought it would be a good place to repost it. I am studying that type of chemical engineering myself!

THIS IS QUOTED FROM HAROLD:
"I've often been asked, 'What do you do now that you're retired?'
Well...I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background and one of the things I enjoy most is converting beer, wine and whisky into urine.
It's rewarding, uplifting, satisfying and fulfilling. I do it every day and I really enjoy it."

Harold is an inspiration to us all.

I got a call like that for a white sofa. One glass spilled not several bottles.

I misted it with O2 (stain magic ) and it vanished in less than a minute.

Took longer for the client to write the check.:icon_razz:

LOL that's awesome!

If they want you to save it, I'd cut the seam and take it back home with you. It'll give you a chance to work on it multiple times until you remove the stain. Have it reinstall and pad replaced.

And if you can't get it out, spill some more on it to even the red color out. :p

Difference here is a few gallons soaked into the backing, pad and subfloor, plus its wool carpet.
It's snot gonna be dat easy. :winky:

That is why Mike is adding the water claw. Basicly I was just refering to how a little peroxide can do miracles on wine and it really impresses the clients on spots that they thought may have been permanent.

OSR for wool from Magic Wand, but i would pull the carpet and clean the
backing and replace the pad first. Three bottles of wine is a lot of liquid.

I have a client, white wool berber. They didn't just spill a bottle but, you know those large brewing bottles for wine making?? THAT's what broke. Red wine EVERYWHERE!!!
Got it all up using Judson's O2, claw and wand. TOok a while.

I have often considered using that on wool, but have always shied away for fear of its distructive affect on the natural fiber. Am I being too cautious?
