So I'm about to go clean a delicious looking bloody area of carpet and my wife got me the 40 vol Creme instead of the clear. Can I use the creme on blood and urine stains or will I need to use the clear developer?

I'd agitate it with protein spotter (after it was rinsed). Rinse again...then apply oxidizer. I boil up water in a microwave and put Cobb's "powder peroxide" in it... you can get stronger oxidizer this way than some beauty supply type peroxide.



Yes, rust remover might be good after its all dry and still have the brownish iron stain.

Also, I always tell customers that with accidents like that and other bodily "exit material"... I never want to say I'm done after the first attempt. These oxidizers do a lot of work after application. So often I apply it and just let it sit for a day or two...by the time I come back the stains are usually gone.

Patience.... and try not to get the immediate perfection.

Secondly, ammonia and rinse.

Third, h2o2 and rinse. Cream works.

Oxalic acid rust remover for old dried blood iron traces.

Wait for the call, you may STILL have to repeat.

BTW I don't think we need to say this but maybe we do...all this advice should be reconsidered if that carpet is wool. I don't think a trashy place like that will have wool...but we've all been surprised before..

You really should reconsider if you don't know what you're doing.

Have you had bloodborne pathogen training. Do you plan on using PPE? You NEED eye, hand protection.

Is the pad saturated? The subfloor? No matter what you decide to do expect some residual blood to surface once dry.

I got out lotsa blood from two dogs fighting. The sad news is one dog lost on both occasions.

Hydrogen peroxide is great because it foams when you hit it. So just keep spraying, let sit, rinse!

I usually dilutes cobbs 50/50.

Although peroxide will work, most blood removers are either high ph or ammoniated or both. Use cold water to rinse with as hot will cook the blood and cause it to coagulate. I always use a proper blood/protein remover for the initial cleaning, usually with a water claw and if I have a blood residue that wicks up afterward, I then will use a peroxide product to remove the final traces. With that amount of blood, count on being called back the following day, let the customer what may happen and charge accordingly.

I looked at your responses last night but didn't get done til late so I haven't responded. I apologize.
I came up incredibly well. I still don't understand the rinsing it first. It seems like getting it wet would make the peroxide less effective. That being said, it worked well.
Oh and My favorite part was how it fizzled up when it came in contact with the blood. Reminded me of my childhood. My mom would always use peroxide.

Also, it was kind of a sad situation, this dude got broken into and robbed and beaten pretty good.
The crazy part is that he's a gay guy and had 3 really hot chicks as friends helping him clean and jumping on the bed with him. No other guys over helping him, just 3 hot chicks. What in the world. It just doesn't seem fair.

It's not about getting it wet... it's about removing most of the contamination before introducing cleaning agents etc. Why would you not want to get most of it out with water?
