What is a fair price for a used 1200 unit in good shape? Local guy is selling one and I may pick it up.

How many hours?

What physical condition is it in?

Does it have the telescoping handle or the fixed handle?

Why do you want a 1200?

7-years ago I sold off the dozen 1200's I had for $500.00 each.

Unless it is a pristine unit with low hours I think the $400.00-$500.00 range is fair.

I have 2 1200's they have dust collecting on them and are the last equipment to go out. if I could get $500 for each of them I think I would say take them and use the money to upgrade. one can normally get a used phoenix 200 or drieaz 2000 lgr for around 1k used. thats what I would use the money for.

LOL

That's exactly what I did, I bought 20-Drizair 2000's and 3-pallets of airmovers. Stored away the 2400's we have and older airmovers so only the newer equipment went out. Of course now that equipment is older now. thathurts

1200 is a great little machine to have. I would not pay over 400.00 but you'll make that up in 5 days rental which is under 2 jobs. I like the 1200 because it fits in small areas nicely and is not too heavy.

I forgot to mention, you need to check the output RH and make to make sure the unit is properly working with your meter. I've seen units running that are not doing a damn thing.

I hope one day I can buy restoration equipment by the pallet load, I envy you Mr.

I "stole" a LGR 2k once for $400 bucks, but looks like market value is right there around 900-1000 depending on the hours/condition.

I purchased 4 1200s last year for $400.00 each, they had 1,500 hrs. I felt it was a decent deal...guess it depends on how many hrs and the condition they're in.

Rapid air movement over the surfaces of porous material will do the heavy lifting when it comes to evaporation. The 1200 will be effective at removing some of the excess humidity from the air, in a small area.

I agree with Kevin, maybe invest in a large exhaust fan.

The 1200 will work but the rug drying area needs to be contained in order for any dehumidifier to do you any good. If you're in an open shop, the machine will have to process the whole air space. That's asking a lot of a small machine, actually it's a lot for any machine in a humid climate.
