Had to clean filthy CGD carpet in highrise in Chinatown today. Due to parking issues had to use the portable-- mytee M-5, paired with the HOSS.

Even with dry passes the HOSS was leaving behind alot of water and had to finish with dry stokes with EVO wand.
We liked the HOSS because it flushed the carpet better then the wand alone.
My question is this: Is the HOSS not porty worthy or am missing something?- I pulled alot of lint out of the center vac port early on.

The M5 is duel 3 stage in parallel. We had 50.ft of vac hose connected to porty.

They do make a contraption with a Hoss head hooked to a portable for the Jan/San guys. Maybe it just needs the flow restricted to match the porty's ability.

50ft?

Yikes..

Try 5.

The HOSS is plumbed with 2" fittings and hose and the internal vac chambers are way to cavernous for a portable.

Wont go with the only 5 ft of hose, but i think u are correct about vac chambers being too cavernous for porty... the Hoss worked great at flushing the carpet and not having to scrub-- just have to follow up with wand to remove more water I guess..

Id rather stick with 50 ft of hose to avoid having to move the machine.

My tall tech perfers the Hoss over the zipper or 360iBH--- which is good since i perfer the zipper or 360iBH

Papa John - you might just be surprised at the results that can be achieved using a good encap product on hammered CGD carpet. :)

That versa rotary machine is very much like the cmx 20 express from 1980's. Didn't work then, probably not going to work now.

Ive seen the hocus pocus results with encap cleaning-- but it wasn't what the customer wanted-- she wanted it cleaned and the air quality improved.
yes encap would have been faster-- a 2 man crew spent 6 hours to Properly clean just 1600 sq ft.-- it was filthy-- and we feel proud of the work we did and the amount of soil that was removed instead of pushed deeper into the carpet with encap.

Put the disc back in and shorten your hose run to 25 feet. Flush going in hoss and wand back out on drypasses for best possible dry times.

I found the disks hanging in a baggie on the HOSS-- duh...haha
Ill be sure to install them if ever used with a porty again.
Reflecting back-- maybe the job would have been finished faster if done as you suggest..
I think this is first time using the HOSS with 2 vac porty so we learned something on this job.
