Closing the air slots some will increase air velocity to make the jump from carpet to tool...and increase recovery.

Maybe we used the wrong glides. We used the flat teflon glides which have channels that possibly cause air leaks.. should have went with 1/2 round slotes or holed instead.

During the hype I tried a HOSS at my local distributor

Glad I did before I just bought one based on idiots here

I bought the HOSS before learning about the existence of the zipper. If i bought the Zipper first a may have never bought the HOSS. Im just glad my tech likes the HOSS and has rescued it from the bone yard for some jobs.
It works fine with a TM.

Brush head 360 is awesome

You were spot on needing the additional filter liners, pulls stuff out that a wand could only dream of

Cleaned the house with it couple weeks back, Maria even used it. Said carpets never looked cleaner

Use it everyday

The HOSS with the square glides is about 70 to80 % as good as a Brushhead RV which is still 100% better than a wand only.

I agree..
Here is proof that a brush is better at agitation the just psi.
Next time you wash your van or car dont use a brush or towel and use spray and soap only- then rinse-- while the metal is still wet just wipe with your hand and see how much more grime comes off..

The Hoss 700 will provide excellent cleaning results when coupled with a portable extractor if set up with the correct restrictor orifice and vaccum shoes/glides. When running on a portable extractor it is best to run between 100 and 300 psi with the .048 solution orifice provided with the unit to avoid over wetting. Make sure when using with a portable extractor that the shoes/glides are the 1/2 moon or rounded glides. These were designed specifically to work with the vacuum system on most portables. The rounded glides provide greater agitation and the down force created provides better extraction capabilities. A Hoss 700 in the above recommended configuration coupled to a 200 psi portable with a single 6.6 vacuum motor and one 25ft section of 1 1/2 vacuum hose was used for recovery test. The test was performed on a load cell table for accuracy. The carpet that was tested were commercial carpet tiles, the tiles were weighed before cleaning(dry). The amount of solution applied was weighed as well. The process was two wet passes(trigger on constant) and one dry pass at same speed. The combination consistently showed recovery rates ranging from 75% to 79%. As a tip for using the Hoss with a portable, pre-spray the area to be cleaned with your favorite Prochem prespray and without vacuum hooked up to the Hoss, use the Hoss to agitate TLCs before cleaning, you will be impressed with the results.

Redesign the head with bristles around the spray and vac orifices and watch how great it cleans!

We like both our hoss units and always have one on the truck. I don't understand the dogging of a good unit.

I get that a new toy came out in the brush head 360 but that doesn't even come close to making the hoss obsolete unless your an idiot.

I know of plenty of guys still making hundreds of thousands a year with rx20 units are they stupid or obsolete, no they are making money.

We don't use our hoss every week but when a rotary is needed on trashed residential it is our go to unit as we run the crb dry on every job with renovators and the prescrub the Prespray with crb with renovators. So the hoss is just more agitation with a crapload of passes that is supper easy to operate without fatigue of danger to any carpet seams.

Remember why we do this, to make money.

Michael, I recently called the son of an old shipmate to see if he'd like to work for the summer.

"I have a job, sorry"

Young fellow makes $8/hour. I would have averaged $20 for the summer.
He could be learning a trade to supplement his college years. Had I known, I'd have been doing this during my entire career!
