The 175 is always on the truck, for either scrubbing rat nasties, post padding, or encapping. Easy to load, very versatile. NOT the perfect tool, but very versatile. Requires more skill, but not really difficult.

It's an economical first step for someone to try encap.

The Cimex, like the high speed buffers, is a production machine well suited for route work and employee use. Different niche.

But Encapman is selling the system so his info should be suspect..come on Rick you know your bias is to present the best possible situation for your system...
Go with what the guys in the field are telling you. IMO-- at least multiply Ricks answer by 2..

I also sell rotary machines. I sell orbital machines. And I sell CRB machines. So I'm not married to Cimex.

I've used the Cimex to clean LARGE office buildings. And I've used rotary machines. The Cimex does not present a challenge for me or my chimps. It barrels through the cubes pretty fast. Another excellent alternative would be an orbital machine (although he didn't list that in the machines he's considering for this job). The Vario is incredibly nimble, with essentially no operator fatigue. An orbital is a breeze to work with in tight areas.

Tank size is similar, at somewhat over 4 gallons. You are right about the brute fatigue, but it CAN do the job very well.

Most rotary tanks are rated 4 gallons "Max". In reality they're usually run with about 3 gallons in the tank. If they're filled to their max capacity the solution tends to "slosh" out of the top as the machine is moving. By comparison, the Cimex has a 6.5 gallon tank. It will easily hold over 5 gallons and still maintain comfortable room for "slosh".

It is true that we all have an agenda and one should always take that into account.

Rick, however, has been honest and helpful with his posts and is one of the sellers I actually trust.

We always pour in 5 gallons at a time.

BULLSHIT! 45 minutes. :shifty:

Eracer could knock out some serious sq/ft, but again I think cubes would even slow it down to 4-5000 sq/ft and hour. :winky:

It would kill in open areas. You would need to ask John how it does with cubes.

Oops. I'm meant average rate as in how much do you charge on average (maybe based off the same way you divided the carpets above?)

It's funny, I got a call from a client of ours today - a person that I've worked very closely with. He told me that they cleaned 30,000 sq ft of carpet in an office building last night with 2 Cimex machines, and it turned out great. This was not heavily soiled carpet, just maintenance cleaning. Typical office building with cubicles, offices, and hallways. It can be done.
