I'm beggining to think the jobs are plants from the
IICRC BOD to discredit my good name and keep me out...
OK, seriously:
The "
CCT" (Carpet Cleaning Technician) test still doesn't talk about polyester fibers hardly at all. They've not revised it since 2012. It has only ONE polyester question, and its a burn test question. But all sorts of questions on "5th generation nylon".
So If you took the course and faithfully memorized every damn answer on the test, it wouldn't have prepared you for the fact that polyester is NOT bullet proof, and can be bleached and discolored in several ways.
There has been more mentioned here on MB on polyester staining and discoloration problems than I've seen mentioned anywhere else.
This is among the 1,234,552 reasons I quit teaching their courses
OK, while I take a deep breath....
To be fair, the better
IICRC instructors (Bill Yeadon/Jeff Cross/ShawnBissailon as examples, though not the only ones) very likely are bringing new information like this to their classes, but its not on the test and not required.
So IF anyone gives you any pushback (and they won't), dump this post on them, and give them my cell phone.
.....and tell them to put on asbestos ear protection.....
Rant over...for now.
