Great seeing you Ron! Hopefully soon we'll be able to figure out the 10' high door issue. Love the new innovations with the zipper and the extender!
Thank you Lisa....it was very exciting for me to have the opportunity to meet and engage with you and Ken. I was intrigued by Kens thoughts for an expandable containment door to compete with zip wall techniques...I'm going to work on it and will be in touch with you guys once we start exploring.

The Encap class was packed and standing in the back. We got to learn that encap was a polymer and the instructor got to learn what pad to put on an OP. It's all good. I however met Tim running the Trinity in the demo area and come to find out he works in my area so I'm going to do a ride along with him.

There were many distributors doing the the same low life things as you Larry... Next year I'm going to do the same and save myself the hassle.
So I can assume that if you go to a home show in your home town and a fellow cleaner recognizes and comes up to you and says "hey can I buy a zipper from you" you will decline the sale because you haven't paid the entrance fee to the home show? I doubt it.

Salespeople who attend under the radar to compete with paying vendors is the issue. It's always happened.
Paying vendors get a table and guaranteed visibility. Under the radar can only talk, they can't show. Though many of the paid people don't seem to be able to show either. There are definite advantages to paying the show. If I were Larry I would be talking about myself wherever I went as well. We all do it, wether it's through our adds or the lady standing in front of the rug dr. Display or to the pretty lady in line at the grocery store and getting a job/2nd date.

I think its intent.

It sounds as if Larry planned to make sales and just didn't want to pay for a booth. ???

Pretty irritating when everyone else pays for a booth and puts up with all the hassles of staffing and running it. Then only to read Larry state how much he sold without having any of thoses expenses or hassles.

Most events have rules against it. If everyone worked that way there would be no show.

I also find it fascinating that mytees drunken employees were talking down to Erik with promises of kicking his ass in sales with their knock off.

Using that scenario of the home show, lets say you bought a booth. You invested 3k in a nice display, another 1k in literature. You commit to 3 days at the show and pay for additional sales staff.

During the show you notice one of your competitors talking to attendees. He looks to be making sales on the floor despite having no skin in the game (but his time).

As you walk out after standing for 3 days you hear your competitor telling someone how busy he is going to be from all the the cleaning jobs he sold over the 3 days.

This is the perspective Erik is coming from. Did Cobb go there with that intent??? Only Larry would know. Whether he did or whether he didn't it, wouldn't make it any less aggravating.

The customers asked us to bring a couple of small items we sold . . .

And I do talk to customers, when I see them at a show . . .

Larry wasn't the only one. As we are working the booth and only able to interact with the people that stop by, they can work the crowd.
The distributors that were doing it sold most of the products that were there..
