I used one of those power flite vacs for years. If you dont need a wand they are nice. Heap, light, and you can replace parts.

I've got one of those Hoover Porta Power canisters for upholstery and tile. I do edging quickly with my hose from the truck while the prespray dwells on carpet cleaning jobs. The Oreck fits perfectly in the system but it might be cool to compare.
