Lee I don't understand. Can you show me a wand that you believe
would not work with an internal glide.
I have an internal PMF 12" and taking the glide on and off is a pia.
there is that stupid center brace in the wand slot, although with an internal glide the reason for that brace would be moot. it is a hammer
and screw driver affair. My Steamway on the other hand is a breeze to remove and reinstall.

Most wands do not have a slot cavity large enough for an internal glide....think aw29. Thus typical glides are external, snapped OVER
I don't know exactly but I would think the normal slot width would be between .125 and .250 inches so since the internal glide material would be inside the slot the max slot or hole would be determined by that slot dimension.you would still have an area(web) between holes and slots O O O
