Just a few minutes ago, I bailed on a empty house. No AC. No power until the end of the week when the new renter moves in. I am just not going to clean in this heat with no AC. In fact, it's hard for me to believe anyone would expect me to.

We have cold water in the fridge here and some propels packets and ice if the want to take a cooler with them. Dan just ran some gatorade out to the mold crew. Looks like heat for at least another week.

Last year when it was this hot the mold crews and the fire guys working in an attic were coming in 6:00 am. They hated coming in early but loved leaving when they rest of us still had half a day to go.

when it gets this bad we stretch out the schedule and give me shorter days in order for me to get out of this heat...
had a guy die in Costco's parking lot last week because of the heat and so far we are up to 18 illegal's that have died in the desert trying to cross over....

I got heat stroke about 6 or 7 years ago and I don't handle the heat as well as I use to....
when it is 112 out side and you are shaking so bad because you are so cold it feels like you are standing in the middle of the north pole bare butt naked in the in the dead of winter.....
you have a problem...it took a few years just for me to really bounce back...according to the hospital..by all rights I should have been dead....

5-6 years ago my father when he was still with us got heat stroke. I don't think he was every as durable in the heat after that.

we just had a cool front blow through...80 yesterday at 5 am...today 60....

81 so far... only to 90...then to the upper 80s as the week moves on...

no 100s yet....whew

Seriously I do. I just work in it in moderation. I'll work for an hour or two at a time take a 15-minute break and the go back out in it. I usually work outside until it gets dark.....ummm speaking of dark.

I lucked out this week. For a couple of days I'm cleaning hundred of chairs and sofas in a conference room. I can set the thermostat as low as I want and we have several fans running.

(Also, next to the vending machines)

Years ago I would get empty rentals with no air in weather like this.(Heat stroke a couple of times)

A slight chill in the new house. Had to turn the thermostat up a bit. You know... Goose bumps.

Didn't feel right about pulling out a blanket.


It's nice when you can bring the work to your home or just work on the phone/computer.

I helped a guy load up some moving boxes that I gave to him....about 10 minutes in the heat... It was brutal!!


Don't bitch and moan about your work in the heat... Be glad you have the work or get the hell out of that line of work.
