Ok I've been messing with my relief valve forever.

It was set to 12hg originally and with a 100 feet of hose it would go to 9-10 hg with a wand on the carpet.

I set it to 14hg and with a sealed 100 feet of hose or a wand on the carpet it sat at 12 hg.

After awhile it dropped again I bought new hose cuffs and changed filters and tightened up my relief valve again this time setting it to 14 hg's with a 100 feet of hose sealed that helped for awhile.

Then it dropped again a week ago down to 10hg???

I opened up the lid and sure enough 2 small holes in my gasket.

So I ordered a new gasket in the mean time I glued the 2 spots with a glue gun so I can work.

The gasket apparently has been bad for awhile
Because when I sealed the machine at the truck with my rc99 filter and 6 feet of 2.5 it shot to 20hg and the almost stalled.

With a 100 feet of hose and wand on the carpet it sits between 14-15 hg and hot damn if the carpets aren't dry and the machine is hotter and it cleans like a mother.

I think my gasket had problems all along.

Can you show us a picture of your gasket and how many hours are on your truck mount?

And I've read that the 570 is very competitive to the 575

Have you seen them side by side together? What makes it better? I'm in the mood to debate

Same engine, 4.8 blower 570 compared to a 4.7 575. Same pump.

The 570 is very simple machine once you dial it in not sure about the 575 has a lot different design it the heating department.

Haven't seen a lot of bad press on the 575 only heard good things.

The 570 however based on a new design can make it harder for the less trained service providers to get it fixed the first time.

But I think that's starting to change.

Both companies are top notch behind their products.

The 575 in Vegas last year beat the Saiger high heat butler and the 570 with a 12 flow wand. 195 to 185

The reason I mention Matt and his 575 is his YouTube video where he throws the hose around you could hear it in the next room. Using a 11 inch PC quad wand.

In my video I'm using a 12 inch west pac with a holed green glide.

But it scream with PC Ti too. Just wished it would've had this much suck with the 1.5 inch Mach 12.

I seriously would've disengage some carpets.

I'm going to the adjust the lift to 14 hg once I put the new gasket on in the mean time it's ungodly when there's no leaks.

I have never heard that said before and have had dealers talk me out of the 570 and into the 575... so I have been here long enough to respect your knowledge of these machines. Why is the 570 better?

For years dealers in So Cal steered everyone towards prochem. Loyal prochem dealers love SS units. Because both companies had the same designer for the machines. The pitch is these are by the guy who designed the prochem machines.

I'm guessing if you go to a retailer whose comfortable with hydramaster whose tech department works on those machines they're gonna push what they know.

What the dealer said was when there are issues with the machine SS send them to the blower manufacturer or the pump manufacturer etc. and HM doesn't do that. The take care of the issue and don't try to send them somewhere else.
I was interested in why dealtimeman thinks the 570 is better because I'm torn between those 2 and even a cds. Butler of HM.

You could always call John Olsen He tells the truth. Butlers a great unit ask Saiger but you already new that.

The idea from guys who have gone away from DD units is if there catastrophic failure of a van and your not planning on a new unit every 5 years a slide in can generally last 5-10 years like the prochem 405 a beast of a machine that never dies. You can move the slide in to a new van and be down only a couple days.

A new butler every 3 years $799 sounds like great to. I think a Apex 575 and 570 are very comparable beast. The 570 has the smaller foot print saves space.

You really have to go with the upgraded Butler... Bigger blower and additional heat exchanger plus their extras 1,2 and 3 packages to have Saigers machine. So the $799 will not get you there...at all...plus I would want extended van with extras so waaaay more than that.
I took a look at myself and wondered if I would look correct climbing out of a new Euro-Van or should I stick with a classic van... Old school since I'm no kid and I think that old school these days means trust. So proven, trustworthy, experienced... no way I pull off NEW. So that's why I thought Chevy/GMC and cds... but I thought the HM 575 was the best slide in, that price range. I have never owned a Prochem so you might be right about that as well.

Sam you can easily make a better gasket. I use the black polyurethane in the caulk tube. Clean it throughly then wipe with acetone. Spread the polyurethane then cover with wax paper. Put the lid back on and press down. Don't start the machine, just use your weight. Wait about 4 hrs or over night and it's good to go. The wax paper won't come off but easily the excess tears off. Don't get the stuff on your hands, it's permanent once dry and will have to wear off. My filter box is on its second machine with only a small touch up of the poly.
