Not sure I understand your logic. When i dry pass i overlap. Everything is drypassed and it looks good.

It does look good to the untrained eye and it's a faster way to clean.

but IF you think about it from the fiber's point of view-- shark tooth isn't even.

Geez! you guy are gas lighting me now, and I'm beginning to have doubts in my belief. 🤣🤣
especially since @anon said I was doing the shark tooth wrong. ill have to analyze it again.

I'm going to assume you overlap by exactly 1/2 too right...you know so all the fibers get equal treatment

more here

"shark teeth" depending on the pattern will have a negligible difference in extraction especially given the diminishing returns of multiple passes..

I do what my market demands, if I didn't I would be out of business!! They seem to like my service, so I will continue.. I just dry pass triangles.

You said to half ass it.. If you had a vacuum, 75% of your work would be easier..
Nah, she said spots came back.. Probably BS, but I serve my customers.. It was the job where we had the living room, and my guy was in the basement.. Then you did the basement stairs, actually solid stairs method..

I only overlap 1 inch.. unless I'm doing stairs then I overlap a 1/3rd-- to clean them 6 times.

so you have 1 inch extra clean streaks? Or 4 inch less clean streaks on stairs?

or do you mean Canadian thirds where you essentially clean 4" of carpet at a time...........have you considered a RV Jr.?

True.
🤔 maybe I should vacuum and then only do 3 passes with sharktooth to recoup the time spent vacuuming
so you have 1 inch clean streaks?
No.. clients say I do a better job then anyone else. most are shocked at how dry the carpet feels moments after I'm done.

maybe someday I'll have someone video tape my perfect wand stroke? 😉🤣:stir:

but This meticulous cleaning is slowing me down too much and I need to either speed up or increase my prices.

What do you guys in the south charge for about 120 Sq ft of carpet, liner foot of furniture, Sq ft for rugs and per stair?

You mean they don't notice that 1" you gave the extra attention to? 🤔 Now apply that logic to a sharks tooth pattern

and most properly set up modern equipment that isn't run by a splash and dash will surprise customers with how dry it is moments after cleaning.......mainly because evaporation is a "surface event" .....give them a moisture meter

It depends on whose observing.
If client complains then easily rectify .
If not wgaf.
But if you are making a video ,you better do each step to perfection.
Because the truly trained will pick you apart like a piranha .
Hacker Trolls will also chime in.
Great topic .
Happy New Yr...

Your wand technique leaves triangle/shark tooth patterns in the carpet. even if you use a rake to remove them.

It's a sign of uneven cleaning.

Same if you leave the swirls from a Rotary.
needs to be finished with a wand.
A vacuum can do this. Idiot
