The HWE Industry standard I'm afraid.

It's quick
Cheap
Easy
Fools for a week or two

And makes it so easy for us under pre spray/over rinsers to impress method shoppers

Safe to say, 90% of us are under rinsers.

What about you?

The pre spray is the basic cleaner to obtain a clean carpet. If you miss the pre spray on the soiled that's were the problem occurs and that's why ss has problems. Extraction with the wand no matter what your choice of cleaner is will not clean the carpets. I like the challenge of really dirty white carpets. Pre spray is my friend and when properly applied makes the extraction work properly. My wand has 2 110 05 jets and when cleaning don't be in a hurry take the time to remove what you sprayed into the carpets. A good job will get you more work than a wet dirty carpet that you didn't get clean. jz.

We miss the point of having a "sight tube" sometimes.

Thinking if it's not dirty we're good, when it's indicating white from removal of stuff we sprayed down too heavily.

Mikey you hit me with a pet peeve of mine....

Many cleaners who take pride in acid rinsing, pure water rinsing, etc lay down far more prespray than they extract, and leave the carpet stickier than if someone shampooed it with a scrubber and walked away.

When I started using clear tubes I found out what a crappy job I was doing rinsing myself, so I'm not holding anyone in judgement here.

Less pre spray
More scrubbing..
I just bought my SCruz two 10/9s to assure most carpets get aggitatided.

With Big Trucks it so easy to cheat.

Jim of all the trucks have come through your shop, how many have a mechanical scrubber within area reach?
Don't count that 175 or OP sitting way in back, hiding behind the brand new upright...

The majority have neither a vacuum cleaner nor any mechanical scrubbing device of any kind.

I will do some more checking and try to come up with an accurate number. I'm happy when the floors are clean and my mechanics don't slip and fall on oil and chemical spills.

Which rinses better vapor or liquid? Can some truckmounts get to the point of vapor limiting their rinse capabilities? A hypothetical question as I do not have any field experience with really hot machines.

Part of the success in rinsing depends on the type of pre-spray and how readily it rinses out.
Not to name a few, but some pre-sprays though good at tackling certain soils, are very hard to rinse out.

Unless seriously trashed I will not pre-condition heavily, agitate and I use 12 flow with not Mat Wood like strokes (slower) and always dry passes.
And like Mike's competitors- glowing reviews. No pork choppers :winky:

When I first got my Vortex I was a heat freak for a few months

Burnt lawns, melted Olefins, constant replacement of ball valves, QC O rings and skin graphs got me off that kick.

and yes, steam vapor does not rinse well.

a wand four 02 or 03 jets have the best rinse impact.

or better yet, an RE with flood jets..

The key to proper rinsing is the purity of the water you rinse with.

No product rinses as well as RO water.

Dave Gill, Lance, and several of our TM customers are using RO water for the best rinsing available in this Industry.

My tricked out Greenhorn is 20flow...and it's being supplied with a diesel burner. so both high flow and heat is there.

But I know for a fact that being a heat freak does nothing to be a better cleaner.
If you have a lower flow wand or re and high heat (steam vapor levels) you're not flushing anything worth a damn.

I don't think my prespray is the problem. I use a battery sprayer and use it lightly unless the areas bad. But then I flush those areas heavily also. I may leave some behind on occasion but it's the foamy spots that I find from the custys that worry me more.

A sight tube would be nice.

My strokes make the carpet look as close to new as possible. Unlike most of you RA wannabes making your perfect "backgammon" triangles , making it look like it was cleaned, hiding the stains that you failed to remove by pushing the pile the opposite way to hide it

Just saying

FIRE AWAY!!!
