As a plumber by trade what do you do when confronted with a plugged toilet that is FOULED to the brim with human waste?

Is there a special "patch" that you wear to show people that you are qualified to do this?

No, Jimmy, plumbers don't get special patches, you can't even get some plumbers to wear a belt.


Stopped up toilets are the easiest thing, run the auger and it's done in about a minute. When the blockage is cleared, just flush the toilet a few times. That's probably a plumbers highest profit margin for a time to earning ratio.

had a building that was broken into,,and the transients had crapped into the toilets overflowing with shit!,, (15) and in the urinals (6),,,no running water,,then they started shitting on the carpets throughout the building. to help cover up the smell they used the 6 fire extinguishers,,which was nice of them! they called us in (contractor who uses us for everything),, go there with my apprentice and within 15' of the door,,were gagging,,it was just a lil foul! thathurts .

before we started doing any work,,,we kept on febreeze bombing the place before we started,,, prob used up 16 cans,,,that were duct taped open,,, tyvek suits,, summer time,,oh yeah,,that was fun!

they didnt want to turn on the main water to that building,so we had used a product called Bio Clean,,mixed it up,,and poured as much as we can into the toilets and urinals,,, kept repeating the process over the week. then we went in and was able to pour as many buckets of water as it took to flush the shit/toilet paper out of the toilets/urinals,,,then we were able to pull the fixtures and plug them. we did run a garden hose down the main sewer line to make sure that the crap was flushed out of the lines.

that was one of the worst jobs i had to deal with! but the boss made it worth while for the apprentice and myself with a nice bonus from the job.

btw,,that bio clean works great in the kitty litter box,,,,wife use's it for the 2 cats who share the crapper.

the building next door was kind enough for us to use their mop sink,,, and we did tell the contractor the issues that can arise from no water in the system,,, thankfully it worked out in the end!

after that,,the rest of the guys were quite convinced on bio clean and were selling it daily.
