Question on changing blower oil.....

Getting ready to change blower oil(Roots 45). There are fill and drain ports on both sides. Is it a shared reservoir, or do I need to drain and fill both sides?

Is it a dual splash? (oil on both ends) No the reservoirs are not shared.
But if you have oil on the back end with 2 drain plugs (and grease zerks on the drive end) it is. (you will only need access to one plug)

Make sure you use the newest "XD" spec hi-temp synthetic oil for your blower.

Inexpensive insurance for the gears & bearings.

Indeed! The one I posted is for a 1/4" drain port, they have them in 3/8" as well, depending on your drain plug size.

Get a 90 degree elbow also (though I don't know your set up) you will probably need it.. I should have done it long ago(still haven't)!!

You will want to use a simple ball valve before installing that drain hose, or you will be wasting very high dollar ISO 220 oil filling that drain hose for no reason.

At 40 dollars a quart I don't want 1/2 pint of oil just filling a drain hose.

you can go to any hydraulics store and have a hose made meg. I have them made for all my oil ports.
