this is my rifle. there are many like it but this one is..... oh, wait.... thats for a different forum lol. this is my current carpet setup at my main job. only used it a few times so far, but its gonna be a regular task now. i used the betco cleaner and powr fllite xtract-7 to pre treat. the unbelievable was just with it, havent tried yet. i like how the machine works so far, except for the dual circuit mess. i dont know a whole lot about this stuff. what do the pros think about any of this stuff? im using it to judge what im going to buy for my personal use in the future. got many suggestions for pex500, and i think thats in the lead for know. let me hear some opinions please

Any more specs or pics of the guts? 3 switches I assume 2 vacs and a pump based on the two cords..
i thinks its powered by anguish and despair- works better after you spend 45 min searching and trying out different outlets. one vac, not sure hp, but it does ok job, 2nd outlet is either for heater element or pump, but i think its heater, which does get cookin pretty fast, so it's probably drawing some juice. i can get some pics of its insides this week, maybe later today... used it this afternoon and it only extracted 1/2 my time on what should have been a "day off". still had to work other job later lol. i suspect thats due to my boss not knowing jack about carpet either and tossing me to the wolves with some "basic bitch chemicals". im making the science experiment research stuff a priority for next week or 2- i gotta start somewhere i guess?! bummed the carpets didnt have noticeable improvement- which is all property management cares about. kidding aside, water was black when i emptied recovery tank- so it does extract dirt. im just too fresh to knowwhat a gummy stain is from or what removes it.... i do know the wand doesnt cast spells... tried "bitch be cool" spell on boss- nothing. then tried "abraca-gtfo-mycarpet". also didnt work.

The pex 500 will be a better machine. Get the one without heat, you will have better vacuum performance. If you feel you need heat, get a separate inline heater with its own power cord. Although I have inline heaters, I rarely use them. The hot water from the building I am in is hot enough. There is better chemistry out there. Make sure you have defoamer. Spray it periodically in the vacuum hose while you're cleaning.

Electric heat is for the birds.. Too much effort for little outcome.. I'd do a dual 3 stage vacs with pump..

2 cords are standard for a decent portable and plugging into different rooms helps (separate circuits).. I've gone as much as 5 plugs so quit complaining..

Since it's not your business, I'd just keep doing what you are doing and see how you can just make it easier..

2 separate circuits is usually pretty easy. One in the kitchen and one in the hallway or somewhere else will usually cover you. Commercial can be tricky. You never know what's on a certain circuit. Best to find the breaker panel before you start. Good question to ask when doing the estimate as some are located elsewhere in the building, not necessarily in the unit you are cleaning.

my problem now is this is for my regular job where i dont have contact with property management. have to go thru supervisor, who is difficult to get in touch, when i do getting info i seek is equally tough. last building i was in had one circuit in lobby i worked, and next circuit behind locked door i didnt have key to. some places have keycards which are no problem, but keys are usually in someone's possession at another location (logical) and copies a sparse. half time nobody knows who has what keys... its really fun!
i like suggestions for no heat and 3stage vac though. i gotta get the chemistry down. i didnt pass chem 1 after only showing up to class 3 times for nothin! free electrons , static electricity, surface tension... strong vs weak bonds...( maybe 15% of any of that is useful.)
i guess its time to search archive for chemistry posts. thanks gents.... pex500 is back in the lead on my wishlist.

It's all about technique .We all assume you would do the same as we do.
Wand strokes, dry strokes etc.
And portables only extract half of what you put down
I don't care about the arguments whether you believe it or not
And if you do extract more water it's because you are wasting your time going over and over the area. Choose a different method and move on from this slow tedious last place method. : )

so your opinion is to skip a portable altogether? im going to guess one of your alternatives would be encapsulation with a bonnet? and if i have your attention i want to run this by you- yesterday someone suggested using hydrogen peroxide? have you heard anything about that. this oerson claimed "it'll get just about anything out".... i thought," oh well if you have the secret formula then all these guys are spending time and effort doing more complicated processes for nothing! shiiii... why arent you running an astonishingly successful carpet business then?" this person has a tendancy to overestimate their prowess in just about everything... so i thought it would be entertaining at the very least to you guys

does not clean carpets, do floors, or much of anything besides blow hot air, talk down to everyone. sounds more like unspecified lower middle management...

This could be so many people in our industry.

There is a story where a man goes into a bar, and tells the bartender that he wants a drink, but that he cannot remember what it is called.

He says: "All I know is that it is cold and bitter and full of gin"

They guy next to him says: "Mister, you're talking about the woman I love..."

OK - this should keep you busy. Is it a perfect heat model? What size are the vacuum motors? Are they in series or parallel? Is there unloader for setting pressure?
If you get a chance, take a picture of the "engine" room where the components are located.
The Pex is a fine machine but it all boils down to pretty much the same components in nearly every choice on the market. My preference would be the mytee with the general pump as those pumps are very powerful and last for many years. Vacuum motors with sealed bearings have around a 1500 hour life. On board electric heaters, in my opinion, aren't all that effective, they cook your engine roo. I used a 3250 inline heater to get consistent hot water and no internal equipment failure. I also had 2 units with internal heat, one being a powr flite, the other a Ninja. The powr flite gave awesome heat, but crappy vac, a 12 gallon fresh tank, but only a 5 gallon recovery tank and I had premature component failures
also look at how hard it is to get service and parts as you need them. The Ninja cooked the pump in 4 months from new.Be prepared to keep a spare pump if you get a unit with a pumptec or cat 1xp pump. They last a year if you're anyways busy. I found the cat pump had a little more longevity than the pumptec but not much. Go to Kleenrite car wash supplies to get consistent stock in that and other things.
