and it gets worse with bad technique and shitty chems.

Far too many do so and the result is guys like Mardie can swoop in and save the day by "cleaning" just a bit better.

I doubt you "personally" do ANYTHING.

Listen Bacon Breath, it's not that big a deal to cut in with your scrub wand first and then use the rotary. Plus just because your dumb ass used a rotary once doesn't mean things haven't changed in that time. Try to have an open mind and give it ago again, it will not only be easier on you (contrary to how you feel......you're still almost a fossil

) but its going to do a better job of cleaning too.

Seriously, I don't believe there is any way you're able to clean as well with a scrub wand as you can with a power head. Even if you only pull the unit out for the traffic areas, you'll be delivering a much improved finished product. Get some of those hose wraps from Olson to band the hoses and cord together and it makes working with the powerhead much easier!

I get enough "stuff" in my filter after prevac as well. Not as much as that, but then I'm CRB/Wand'ing. Depends how long and thorough you prevac .
On an olefin berber in a video store, I used to get a TON of sand with my RX20 that wouldn't come out with the prevac.

Depends on which end of the spectrum you are searching.

I am always on the hunt for quality tools.

As of right now, quality is just not a word I would use to describe the rotary extraction tools available to us.

Mono-Method Mardie......Please help me understand something......When you make a "cleaning" pass with your VS machine, is the area you have just passed over 100 percent dry??
I believe I would be correct in assuming it is not 100 percent dry, which would lead me to believe that any moisture present, is the moisture left behind in dirty foam that has not been completely extracted.

I can accept this on commercial jobs, but on occupied residential?

Help me understand this.

Just like hwe their will be moisture left behind and just like hwe the moisture should be free of contaminants if the operator did his job properly. We all know that nobody can get100% of the impurities out. The moisture left behind with the VS is an encapsulant and will continue to collect any impurities for encapsulation.

End Zone by Bridgepoint claims to do this in a rinse. I'm not sure how well it does encap but it is excellent as a rinse, leaving carpet that looks and feels great.

As for Mardie's comments, it is important to note that all his opinions are based on ignorance rather then actual experience. Kinda like when a home owner try's to give us advice on how we should clean their carpet because they have used a Kirby dry foam set up a couple times , but just hired you cause they don't " have the time to do it them selfs anymore"
