RV Antifreeze VS Windshield Washer Fluid

I emptied the waterbox and system of water before putting the antifreeze in. I didn't blow the lines out though which I guess is where I went wrong. I put in two gallons and ran it for awhile and still had at least a quarter of my waterbox filled with antifreeze. It must have gotten rock solid like the photos above.
Going back and looking at some of those jugs, there seems to be a big difference in quality.

Good news is that I found a used White Magic Pro 1200 heat exchanger for only $200. The heat exchanger in my CDS is similar to this one but shorter and fatter. I don’t have the regular tubes.

When winterizing the Butler the windshield fluid is used to push all the water out of the machine, then the windshield washer fluid is pumped out. This leaves no liquid in the machine, as an added precaution leave the valves open.





I have been using Butlers in sub freezing temperatures here in New England for 20 years without a freezing issue.
