Yup. Have been flooding with garden hose in the morning but switched it up as of late. And give the brushes the "Saiger" bath 0nce a week.

At almost 200 bucks a pop I want those brushes to last.

Which brings me to another question: how long with a set of white brushes last with everyday use? Two jobs a day average

Use this for my Apex. Any good? Ordered it from our local tractor dealer. Our TM store uses the Fram....loud exhale...
Nice, you have an Apex! Welcome brother!

You will be fine, use them up, then go to the Nappa Gold..

Sounds like you will make it last! I would guess at two jobs a day, maybe 3-4 years?

Every job is over kill imo..

Not for us, and ours is 6 years old already.

We don't want to cross contaminate pet hair from home to home and possibly make someone indoor allergy situation worse than before we arrived.

Plus would be pretty bad if different color carpet and someone else's hair comes out on the next job while the customer is watching.

If I'm bringing in the crb it's for restorative cleaning anyway. Mostly rentals with no one around.

Same opinion and process here.

I used Procyon Powder for over 20 years, but only as a rinse. I've moved on to some of the newer products out there for PS and rinse. Procyon still makes a hell of a give-away spotter when you mix and bottle yourself.

Now I know what to do with the 100 lbs I just bought.

Procyon powder should not be causing corrosion in your machine.

The procyon I am familiar with used STPP as the primary builder.

We also use STPP in two of our powder presprays, and have not seen this problem.

STPP has a pH of 9.5 and is a water softener.
It had been used for many years in premium laundry formulas with no issues.

Which procyon product were you using in your CRB machine ?

Have you looked at the SDS to see what builders are in it ?
I'm inclined to agree. Most pre-sprays use these builders in some proportion. Soap free offerings rely on it to a much greater degree. It makes up more of the product. That means in time everybody grooming in powdered pre-sprays will start to see issues.

So where do I get parts f hirom for this crb? I haven't had the chance and really don't feel like chasing down stuff here.
I was wondering if there is a rebuild kit. All the screws and a few ectras, the bearing covers and bearings is all I need I think.
I don't know if a parts list has been posted or not but was wondering what's holding the bearing in. I don't see a snap ring.
I need to get back to this and probably order the 15.

I wish I had time and energy to piece it together but maybe another time. I'll take better care of it now that I've had it apart and see what happened. Thinking of a piece of felt over the bearings for extra protection.

Ours lasted a little over a year on one truck, year and a half on the other.

Maybe used a little more than yours.

There's a place to send an email on that website. Ask Bob about the 10 inch machines. Most of the parts are the same but not all.
I see there are o rings on one so just want to be sure.
Thanks again for the info.

Not sure what would be different as far as the guts..
If I remember correctly some of the larger units were made for pit washing so I figure there are some differences. I want to get one of those.

I was all freaked out after seeing the pics Reg was showing and the machine at Johns the other day. I use products full of stpp so I was expecting the worse as I don't take the brushes off very much and clean, I just rinse the brushes and vacuum them off after every job, so hair does build up a bit on the shaft.

I took my 10" all apart last night and all was well and beautiful, the bearings looked new, and my machine is 4 years old. The neglect it must take for those pictures Reg was showing and that I saw at Johns Place the other day blow me away. I'll definitely be taking the shafts off and de-hairing more often as routine maintenance.

I called excellent supply and spoke to Rod. I was happy they are replacing the screws with hex bolts. Should really help with maintenance. We talked about ways to sheild the bearing more too.

Just wanted to give them an honorable mention. Getting some Ds1 too. Really looking forward to the 15.
