Well, it looks like I'll be selling one of my carpet cleaning companies.

I've already got a buyer so this isn't an ad. lol

Why? It's still a bit of a "headache" even though it's leased out. There is still a liability there even with the protection set in place.

And I just happened to get an offer I couldn't refuse. Steve Toburen would be proud. shiteatinggrin

I'm seriously thinking of selling my Dallas area.. But I'm not sure yet.

Another reason why is in my signature line.

Anyone want to buy an Orbot??

What's a carpet cleaning business go for these days?

If the right offer came along i would consider selling my business too.

If owner dependant, pretty much the value of the assets and may a grand or 2 for the phone number and customer list- unless there are sales contracts amd guarantees in place by the selling.

How much?

It doesn't have the sprayborg... Which would be total of $3000 new I think.

It's been reworked by HOS so it's almost brand new.

MF pads,
Pepsi Sprayer etc.

I really don't know what would be a good price... I just put that in the post off the cuff. Haven't thought about it.

Being purchased by a carpet cleaner. Worth a bit more because of that. Yearly revenue was considered more than anything... Along with marketing in place.

Where does that leave you sub who was doing all the work?
If he is smart, he will steal most of the customers at this point.

They'll be jumping into a company that has made pretty good money over that last 10 years with minimal advertising.

Put in a little work and it could be a huge money maker of sorts.

The image it there... Good reputation etc.

No equipment... Just an image, client base, phone number, reputation and a great repeat rate thanks to the quality work and Service Monster!

A company like ours with systems in place like, automatic reminders, large clientele list of consistent repeats, quality image and equipment, high ranking website that gets consistent calls, year in year out killer proof of profits can sell for good numbers. I would say $300,000 per busy van would be a good number IMO.

Such revolutionary thinking: People, utilities and services are commodities to be bought and sold.

Oh wait, Enron were the folks who came up with that idea  .

Corky, what are the chances that the ACN gurus told you to get rid of your other businesses (and your TV) so you could focus on only ACN?

Zero to none. If anything they would tell me to keep them or any income generating source until it's the same or better.
It doesn't have much to do with ACN. It's more the PITA factor and making a good deal for me and my Tech buying it.

Your business is worth whatever someone will pay for it.

Problem is most O/O's run their operation like a job instead of a business.

Have software to track customers, monthly p&l statements and accurate records.

Find the right buyer and present your company correctly and you would be amazed what a one truck business can sell for.

This is exactly correct! Run it like a business and have all the numbers to prove it. Have systems in place and make it turnkey. Then you can and will get top dollar. I was offered twice $500,000 4 years ago for my 2 van operation.
