Anyone have any suggestions for getting a high PH overspray off stainless steel? It seems to have left a spray patern slightly lighter than the rest of the stainless steel.

You can fix it with ink
Write a check for new stainless steel.

You can buy replacement panels but I think your hooped. Do a search on the board about SS and tile and grout cleaning. It has been talked about a few times. Sorry to hear that Aris....

I can't remember where but I've seen a kit online that takes care of this. You say you etched it with alkaline?. That's a first for me, it's usually the acid that does it.

Come to think of it it may just be easier to replace. I think this is the kit, looks like it would be a pita.

I once did that and just applied the same product to a rag and wiped the whole thing so it was uniform. Worked like a charm.

If it was an alkaline I would guess you cleaned the point of contact as well. Needs to be cleaned uniformly as was stated. Stainless steal cleaner and polish sold every where should take care of it.

If it was an acid you can hide it with polish but it is damaged the etching will resurface.

Use it on all my stainless appliances.

Used to use it a lot in cleaning for fireloss.

WD-40 and Sheila Shine will work... for a while. If they clean it with 409 the spots will be back. So, give them a little bottle of Sheila Shine and tell them they should never use anything else.

I used mothers (I think thats it) ,but like said above, a good ss polish.

Shiela Shine if it sin't bad, stainless polish followed by Shiela Shine if it's worse, and 1000 grit sandpaper followed by stainless polish and Shiela Shine if you're looking at buying it otherwise.

Big refer doors cost as much as replacing the whole unit.

I had to replace 3 different appliance parts...stainless...because the ass of a chimp working for me didn't tape up the area. And he knew better...he was just lazy.

Yup, It messes up stainless something fierce.
