Trying to see what the national average would be for TM'S

1) What is everyones TM fuel costs on average day out in the field?
*Please put how many HP your motor and blower size.

2) What is your average daily fuel cost for your vehicle per day?
*Please put how many miles you clock and what your paying at the pump per day on average.

Thanks
A

Actually thats very good
No just looking at efficiency; comparing blowers, generators vs gas motors etc

1500cc Nissan driving 47 blower $4.50 fuel per hour. Gross $145/hr

Fuel cost 3.1%, which is insignificant compared to the extremely better cleaning in less time with less chemicals, and most importantly less labor than previous electric machines.

Lee can you further define when you say $145/hr?
If your TM running a Nissan which drives your 47 blower is at $4.50 per hour of fuel
Would it be safe to say your running 1 1/2 gallon of petro per hour?
What is your average "ON" time for the Nissan TM in hours total operating hours per day?

1.3 gal/hr to spin a roots 47 in a slide in. If it were a PTO it would
be 1.5 gal/hr; the difference being very small.

I'm saying that with the equipment we run our avg fuel cost per day is $53.75/day. I'm sure if I wanted to break it down to how it's divided into unit v/s vehicle I could. But that would involve some long math and I don't see that as being nessasary at this point. Feel free to take it on your self though. The unit runs on avg 5 hrs/ day. Could be more just being fair with the avg.

Custom Ford 7.3 IDI Diesel Extended van with a Dual Blower PTO:

0.5gph (Van running at 1300rpm max)
My blowers are WAAAY over driven to get 105% RPM

mpg is 19 around town, 22 hwy.

My backup 95 GMC 5.7tbi Butler (Pimped 2.5 etc etc)

1.7gph @1500rpm (single blower spinning at only 60% of its capacity... thanks butler engineers!)

9mpg no matter how I drive, Hwy or in town.

Something to consider.

The weight of the machine can significantly effect the cost of operation. Some of the larger machines are 700 lbs more than the smaller machines. That could affect the fuel economy by 3-5 miles per gallon easy. Put that over the life time of a machine and we are talking about some real money. Obviously the same thing goes for carrying water around.

100k at 15mpg is 6666 gallons of fuel. At 3.25 = 21,666

100k at 10 mpg is 10,000 gallons of fuel. at 3.25 = 32,500

A difference of about 11 grand - Basically, the difference between having a really nice vacation or staying home every year.
