I took your advice


The hg went straight to 15.

So, there's got to be a blockage on the intake side of the blower. I've removed and checked the hoses, cleaned the lint basket and filter and looked all thru the waste tank and I can't find a blockage anywhere.

It's a leak maybe your new lid gasket is loosing some suction that's where my 405 starts to fail.

Make sure your using the right one and there's no gaps. 99% of the time it's the lid gasket.

By the way if you idle down the machine you would hear the leak.

You're right Sam. The lid gasket (although new) was leaking. I took some Seran Wrap and went around the entire machine, holding it up to any place that might be leaking air. The waste tank lid was sucking it in so I know it's leaking some. Can't say whether that is the "entire" problem, but it's certainly contributing. I ordered another new gasket and will be installing it tomorrow. I'll post the results when it's done.

I heard the leak in the beginning -that's why I replaced it. Can't hear any leaks now, but using the Seran Wrap confirmed that it's leaking so that' why I ordered a new one.

Make sure you scrap all the old crap and glue off use marine goop or if anybody else has a good suggestion use that.

I took your advice when you posted about replacing the lid seal. It made a huge difference for me.

It was leaking so much I didn't hear it at first. But, as I was working on it I had a small leak that screamed until I got it sealed up.

OK so I got the new lid gasket on. Sure enough the new one I put on 6 weeks ago was leaking. So, now it's pulling 14.5 hg. If there's a good side to all this extra crap I had to got thru, it's that it has helped me learn the machine a lot better. So, I appreciate all the help you guys offered up.
