Customer referrals seems to be missing.

Would be nice to ave the pole capability to make multiple selections with a ranking embedded so that it could be totaled automatically.

Business cards? Really?

How about email blasts or warm market

How about signage on the van?

How about sound... The loud arse TM next door?

Mine was customer referrals. I was nearly 100% repeats and referrals.

Upselling.

Would you like some carpet cleaning to go with that electricity?

Lock the thread. The answer has been given. I can't understand why that wasn't there. 3 jobs today, all referrals.
I always seed fertile ground with a few extra business cards and simply asking if they were satisfied, please pass my name on. Old fashioned? Yep. Does it work? Yep. DUH!

Geez, Leez, I said for those that DIDN'T read. shiteatinggrin

Because right now someguy is making a full list of thirty more things that could possibly be out there, whether most use it successfully or not and is going to complain incessantly that he's been disenfranchised and that all the bases weren't covered because he considers hisowndamnself the pinnacle of advice giving and all thought provocation.

Willy, the thread is about each person's personal method, not just a question of which one is best.

Google places with tons of client reviews and being on the top in most all cleaning related searches.

Followed by referrals and then groups in my corporate marketing.

Best thing is this stuff works and it is free advertising.

Geez, Doug, you gotta work with what you got.

What good is Google without a website??

Either it's a Google organic listing or Google Places page.

Other internet is those who use Bing, Yahoo or want to include Yelp, Merchant Circle, Kudzu or the like.

Not to be smarmy. But, Google can work quite well without a website.

Websites are far less important as they used to be.

Go on, Dave....

I say this all the time.

Most of my new clients book from the Paces listing and never go to my website.

Places listings are what shows up on the front of smart phones and usually not the websites.

Like most marketing.

You have to make your Places listing unique and not just one of the pack. (USP)

A lot of cleaners fail to establish some kind of USP and then they wonder why they get so many price shoppers.

A strong USP will almost take price out of the equation.

Websites are for homos who stand in the mirror and flex their muscles. They tell you nothing about a company other than what the designer wants you to see. I never bothered to make a website but I rank #1 in Google in my city (Clawson,MI). The jerks at Rainbow Int. have latched their name to my company name trying to confuse people and quite possibly have stolen customers from me but se le vie. I'll git those suckers when the time is rite.

Re: What's your best method to acquire new residential custo

yeah, I thought you were going to say something like that.

You'll notice I included Google Places in the poll, both are covered.

But all things being equal, If I saw two companies on Google places, I'd pick the company with the website over the one without, but that's just me.

Doesn't having a website increase your listing on Google Places over those without?
