Sadly, it's not listed on either Jon Don or Aerotech's website. I will find out today.

A good tip for anyone getting a van powered unit:

If you can, get the van through your local dealer and have it shipped to the installation center, or take it there if its not far.

If you have anything go wrong in the drive train while your truck is under warranty, dealers who didn't "get the sale" will often throw up all sort of "its the fault of the add on machine" statements and will not cooperate in getting you warranty coverage.

I know its usually easier to get it all in one package, but that situation can be a pain later on.

Definitely looking to see what I can get here locally.

i watched this and then called chris when i was deciding what tm to get.
he was having annoying issues. he was a nice guy and you should maybe call him and see how it ended up.

if you want a DD you should get a butler IMO.

I watched that video a few weeks ago.

Not a big fan of Butler, reached out 3 times with no response. Figured I would try one more time just to see if I would get a response (no intention of buying at this point) they did get back to me, but it was too late. Don't like chasing people to spend my money.

Thanks for all responses!

I bought 2 ss summit pto machines have had absolutely zero problems from either one in the year and a half or so that ive had them. Has a 10 year warranty that includes damn near everything on the machine. The dds is all stainless wich was appealing but in the end 10 year warranty made the decision for me.

I saw this guy's review when it came out. First off, he winks at the camera, second, he holds up a Dang wand and touts what a great wand it is. He lost all credibility with me after that. But, the 10 year warranty sounds nice. Also, Rick Aranda is selling these and he's a stand up dude.

I was looking to get this unit but ended up buying my 1996 Lima Bean Special with the CDS for $5k. Turned out to be a great deal.

I can't speak to this unit, as I haven't owned one. I have owned direct drives from hydramaster, white magic, and Sapphire, all caused major premature failures to the vans and thousands a year in maintenance. I now run Apex 570s in Ford Transits and after 5000+ combined hours I'm happy I made the switch

Wow, 10 years! The DDS isn't anywhere near that.

Rick Aranda is the man! Lucky for me he is the one I'm working with.

That is my exact concern. Have your 570's been reliable? My 370 has been the most reliable machine I've ever owned.

I hate to acknowledge it, but yes they've been extremely reliable. I do the maintenance by the book but all 3 have been awesome. The placement of the throttle cable is too close to the exhaust which causes it to melt so I replaced those and put some heat insulation around them, I have one that has a bimba valve that occasionally sticks and causes a high temp shut down... that's really been it I think in 3 years.

but yes they've been extremely reliable.

and they're relatively quiet too

Chris* did the office carpets a month or two ago.
Side door ally sandwiched between two brick buildings where a noisy TM would echo 3 blocks away.
One of the quietest slide-ins I've ever heard

*his guy Kevin did the cleaning .
He's a winner Chris!!
Take good care of him, long term he's worth his weight in gold to you

As far as butler not getting back to you, well they have a huge waiting list and honestly just dont need your business.

as far as everyone saying the 370ss is reliable, how the **** did you fix the stupid oring that breaks every 4 months. shits annoying.

im very happy with my 870, but a 570 would have been more than enough for me.

I don't think anyone should worry about getting a PTO unit unless they use their truck for everything from taking the kids to school to towing a travel trailer. It's kind of alarming to see units with less than 2,000 hours in a van with 248,000 miles on it.

We bought a HM CDS when they first came out and then gradually replaced all of the slide-ins with them. 40 years of nothing but CDS and very little downtime for repair. We used to put 10,000 hours on the units before selling, but we're not using them day and night anymore. Selling at 4-5,000 hours means the next guy gets another lifetime out of it.

We had some bad luck with Fords in the 80's, no issues with Dodge and a few problems with the GM vans. Nothing was due to running a PTO unit except baking plug wires. Any truck related problem also existed in other models by the same manufacturer.

4,000 hours sound like a lot, and it is, for a generator motor.
