LOL
I wish I was that creative
And had that budget
I mean I get a lot of calls that used them once. I look like a hero compared to them. Even get calls to fix the problems they create.

They have been good for my business.
Oh I know what you meant. We all know. I’m just being nice because SS is the soupe du jour right now.

The franchise can regulate operations to an extent, but each franchise is really only as good as the owner. Our experiments with ex-SS guys have failed because we can't break them of the "high speed" mindset. I understand SS is trying to move upmarket though, so maybe the two-man, gone in 60 seconds methodology is old news.

So are we becoming the new "I love Stanley Steemer" board?

yes and no
Yes in the sense that "lower standards" of cleaning are acceptable here now .
(wasn't always so and you weren't chit if you didn't endeavor to be God's gift to fiber bundle fastidiousness)

The well respected/well liked board stars made dirt smearing enRcap and soap dispensing wand scrubbers "value priced" well and good too

no in the sense of bait 'n switch schmucks and other nefarious, unethical biz practices and marketing lies

the former should be welcome (there's a place for all biz models ) from buck-o-foot bells 'n whistles boutique outfits to $49.95 two rm specials (and hope they buy the squirtguard protectant)

There's place for all the ethical ones
I'd suggest the Stanley's and Hogopian's of the world certainly fit the ethical biz model

the latter..schmucks and liars should always be called out

hell, even the primary spray 'n wipe/VLM only guys would be accepted .
They get dogged mostly for their pantload-o-chit marketing (and rightly so)

if not for that, there's a place for them too

Don't be a hater to anyone but the lying and unethical schmucks
we allz jus trying to making a livin' Son
Beit in the "good, better, best" market

now, go do the right thing

What I find about Lord Stanley is they have one tech on staff with 10 plus years experience who keeps the wheels on the bus!

Nick the new guy usually chases off all of 10 year plus guy’s hard work.

Still they have problems with polys and olefin and just run and gun!

Unless they slow down add a few more steps it won’t matter!

They need to get the same results every time out not be so hit or miss.

why you do you think there are so many pixie dust gallons-o-gunk on the market

And you like Martha Stewart?

I personally have no problem delineating a biz relationship with a "monkey biz" one

I want to see where she hides her prison tattoo ......

O/Ops rule this biz
and it's generally true an owner on the truck does superior work day in/day out compared to employees or subs
(they simply have more invested/more interest)

but I determined long ago 63.28% of them don't know chit

those are the ones that browned jute back carpet back in the day
and their call back rate spiked when berber became the '90s trend de jour

neither materialized for me...and I truly didn't know chit when I started

conclusion;
most can't figure it out themselves why their technique stinks .
They can't tell the difference when a filter is half/three quarters clogged
Can't figure out why/how jets can distort some carpets (if they even notice it)
can't figure out why leaving puddles at the ends of their wand strokes causes a myriad of their troubles with berbers and CGD

most have to be spoon fed
and/or sold "stoopit resistant" tools and mAgic elixirs

and that's the OWNERS!!

Now put peeples on the truck ........the problems manifest

I know you're no dummy
and willing to bet my last Little Debbie you and 36.72% here know what I'm talking about

Before you start throwing stones at me, think about how credible your argument really is. An owner op will out clean any hired tech. ???

1. Many of yourselves were once “hired tech’s”, were you so bad then, or did you care about your quality?

2. Many of you have tech’s you trust to clean daily. They are not owner op’s

3. A trained tech equipped with all the latest and greatest tools, chem’s and tm can’t compete with:

a) Newby owner Ops that haven’t a clue yet

b) Facebook fools that use are borderline skitzo’s but great carpet cleaners…really?

c) Broke dik fools that are using anything from a bar of soap to wd40 and under powered TM’s

d) Portable owner op’s. My tech with a Everest, Prochem chem’s, Zipper Spinner can’t compete with an owner op porty user? REALLY?

Assuming that because you are an owner op it automatically makes you a better cleaner isn’t a straight across the board truth.

Sorry to ruin yor weekend! :winky:

not "automatically"
but in general the owner will put more effort in , regardless of the biz

notwithstanding whether they know they're clueless of not

Sorry to ruin yor weekend!

Only Joni could do that...like wanting me to go shopping with her at some boringazz stores......

Rich wouldn’t know he doesn’t have customers calling say the young man was good but I prefer the owner!

Not a lot but it happens!

Because as an owner I’m willing to try things my guys might not think of!

Experience matters! And you can’t just instill it it takes time.

But ya I loved my techs!

Good for you. If only you can get your techs trained and enjoying the challenge. Biggest problem I had working for large corps., .is that they would overload me with jobs, not giving me the time to do a proper job. 5-6 jobs a day is not consistent with quality.
That is the key for sure. Tools don’t mean squat without tech buy in. I’ll tell you right now that my crews are fighting over who gets a CRB each day. They’re definitely sold on the results of it. We just got the Devestators today so we’ll see.
