my mom jut scent a text. she ordered me the e mith said it will be the key

a strong work ethic and a people pleasing personality (people have to like and trust you)
if you have those two things in abundance, it shouldn't be all that difficult for a one man band to net $30K a year within a year or three .

By year 5 you can start cherry picking the jobs (if you choose to stay small with such small income income goals)

This yanking peoples chain is exactly why a lot of good owners dismiss this forum. I hate wasting time on this type of stuff.

Just like marketing to consumers tom, its a numbers game.

Wouldnt take it personal, just keep planting those seeds.
Most people just lurk anyway, so often you never know the number of people that you inspired.

A separate forum would be perfect for people looking to have questions answered and not just smart ass remarks. This almost turned me away when first joining this board, but after reading through the actual helpful posts it made me learn to ignore the dumb comments and focus on the ones that help us grow, or fun to chat in. :)

Besides that...

As you read from most posts on here, $200 a day will not be making you 54k. Our first year open, 1 truck, only my partner who initially started the business was on the truck. I still worked full time for the casinos and did the marketing side for the business. First year, we brought in total revenue of about 64k. Profit, 12k. Sad right? Thankfully we had back up savings, but that is what it took to put back into the business to grow. You have to figure, marketing materials, fliers, cards, insurance, more marketing materials, is all going to have to be your main priority the first year. Not to criticize harshly, but you need to find someone to make all this up for you, because your spelling is really bad. If you write out a customer receipt and spell carpet wrong, or email them "we will be cummin Tuesday" as you posted above, your not going to last very long. You might be lucky to get a few calls when beginning, but when word spreads that either your service or cleaning is shitty, your f'd. (Simply put). (Example you wanted to clean a wool rug with no chemicals, or an oflen type carpet with no chemicals? What?)

I would definitely begin reading this board from the beginning posts and work your way through. Or in the search box up there type in a topic and it probably already has an answer. Your vendors, whoever you're buying supplies from, should be able to provide you with knowledge on the best ways to clean, chemicals to use, etc. Maybe try getting a few more cleaning jobs under your belt, do them for free for a friend or family member and have them critique you. Being in a small town I would think is difficult. I think of small towns as gossipy. You screw one person, they tell their neighbor and so on. Then your going to be like some of the companies we have here in Vegas - they change the name of their business once a month, probably go through 20 different phone numbers to screw customers over who try to call back and want refunds from their horrible cleanings. Also - skip the putting fliers on peoples cars. Personally, I would make it a point of not hiring a service when I'm driving down the road and notice the damn ad flapping on my windshield.

Good luck, its always a dream to open a small business and never have to work for anyone else again, besides your significant other. It's not easy either, we still put in 60 hours a week, even after hiring employees. We started out some what similar, very small no ones to where we are doing on average 35 jobs per week now. Here's a good article you might want to read: http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/236961

This board is doing just fine just the way it is.

I think it is just that "flavor" that actually ATTRACTS most members here.

MB still has the best content to be found anywhere regardless of the ball-breaking, ruff-housin' , and d*ck jokes.

This post is a perfect example.

Even though it has most likely been started as a joke, it still contains oodles of insight, content and advice that can be of value to anyone thinking about giving a biz such as this a whirl, assuming of course, they don't have an overly sensitive MANGINA.

What do you really expect from a bunch of fooking janitors on their down time??..........geez....SMH
