I have a client with a heightened sense of smell that had a urine on the his sofa (drove him crazy.) Had a deodorizer put on his sofa. He does not like the deodorizer scent.
Any product out there to neutralize the perfume (deodorizer) smell? And not by adding another scent.

Get the cat, a bowl, an eyedropper, and a spray bottle.

You obviously put on too much deodorizer.

Now you will have to carefully put just the right amount of cat piss back on the couch to reach that magic balance.

Hydrocide is the least scented product I've found.

Maybe you could rinse most of the deodorizer out with plain water before adding anything else that the guy will surely smell also.

I actually pre-qualified deodorizer scent with client prior to application, had him sign that he understand that the scent will take a while to dissipate. Also applied deodorizer exactly as per manufacturer's instructions and rinsed the sofa afterwards. The client knew exactly (and signed) what the potential issues may be.

However, I would like to see if the scent (perfume) can be removed faster than through slow dissipation, as I'd like to help the client that has a very heightened sense of smell. (he was going to replace the sofa, and trying to remove it would have been the cheaper alternative.)

Fred, you are right, Hydrocide does have the least offensive scent. However, I do not know if adding it after Odorcide is not going to improve it or just add one more scent.

I was actually wondering if spraying 3% peroxide may help in breaking down the molecules.

Also master Blend has a scent free deodorizer. Anybody try it to remove a perfume smell?

Ozone machine maybe?? what did You use in the first place?

Maybe rubbing alchohol misted on area and toweled off use a blower to speed dry!

Or fresh water rinse hydrocide has no scent and encaps so maybe that would work!

You'll have to experiment at home and let us know!

If the weather is mild, I would rinse it off OUTSIDE and tell the customer to let it air our /sun for the day.

Well. I already cleaned the sofa. No need to re clean.
And anyhow most of the deodorizer is in the filling material and rinsing does not really remove scent.

Though yesterday he seemed a little upset about the scent, when I came back today he was actually happy with the results (no urine odor) and praised me for doing a fantastic job.

So far.............life is good :p

Go figure

Steampros , www.solutionsbysteampros.com sells a product called ODORCRYLIC which has no scent.

You can even mix it with the scampoos because it crystallizes.

Quat A Lot!!!!

Quat A Lot seems to remove every odor in it's path. If I add it to Sunshine deodorant for added quats it removes the Sunshine fragrance.

Ofer, the Quat A Lot has but a slight clinical smell, like rubbing alcohol, that dissipates quickly.

Thanks Art, I'll give it a shot.

As a quat, I am not sure how it removes the urine. I know that it kills the bacteria, so that in the short run there will be no odor.
However, wouldn't the alkaline urine salt eventually attract moisture and the bacteria return?

Les?
