I've been arguing with some idiots about which type of rinse to use on residential.

Detergent rinses clean best, but with all super high ph pre sprays am acid rinse is a must.

If your using ultra pac 9.5 ph then ya a detergent rinse is cool.

What day yee @Jim Pemberton

Ok rapid resoil. You could get a wick from
Over wetting but that’s a different story.

I actually prefer to leave the carpet with a lower ph for occupants and pets.

Just my preference!

Hey Larry Gun show called and wants their #1 shooter back

pH makes no difference in resoiling or wicking. Have any of you ever tested the pH after cleaning? Trying it before blabbing about it.

Love that song (above). All together now:

"The conventional Marty pout goes on and on
blink, blink, blank.
blah, blah, bleh.
..."

Right?

I was commenting on Steve’s point you didn’t answer my other points! Context context context.

I prefer!

Ps bad chemical and improper mix ph
Regardless can cause a rapid resoil.

I doubt any here use those products.

Ok some of you shop smart and final and Home Depot for product. Cough cough!

What points were those. Ps. High pH can contribute to browning if their is any cellulose present in the carpet or pad. Usually prevented by proper extraction and drying.

True but we usually don’t see that. I don’t see wall to wall wool or jute backing,

No I prefer to leave the carpet with a lower
Ph for occupants. My preference!

You can clean any way you want!

But from a guy who used Procyon on everything for years. I guess you reversed your position?

No, I still use procyon on most residential. Procyon Extreme as a prespray and procyon plus powder as my rinse. Even on some heavily soiled carpets, it's a good 1,2 punch. I carry Saigers Code Red or Soap Daddy Prime Time enzyme for the worst places. I still rinse with plus powder. The procyon, being a phosphate helps to remove the prespray, leaving very little residue. 1/2 hour after the carpet has been cleaned, even with a 12 ph prespray, the pH is close to neutral. Tested with a calibrated pH pen, backed up with ph paper. No need for acid rinsed. Presprays that are very alkaline are dangerous to your health. You should be wearing gloves and a respirator.
