Your machine for example looks like it is well built, however will be very hard to put in and take out of a van by one person. I for example, need to carry a portable with me at all times, in a non extended van (parking issue) and at times be able to load and unload it by myself.
Is that a possibility with yours?

And the saving of gas comparison mike is silly. How many more times per year will Stanley S be able to clean your clients carpet and for a fraction of the price they pay you?
You do get what you pay for and we all prefer well built, long lasting machines.

The Cat Pump sprays at a solid 500 PSI . . . and has great, efficient vacuum motors.

After being a longtime Pumptec user and switching to the Cat. I can say that the Cat keeps more consistent pressure and it doesnt leak like the Pumptec do.

First visit regular cleaning, the second just water using the leftover soap from the previous visit. Still cheaper than you.

With some companies, you know that that's what you're getting and most of us will avoid them like the plague. That's for example is why I am willing to pay more and get a CDs, or a pro-1200, or a Prochem Apex (all of which I have or had). Why? Because they have a reputation for being good, durable, relatively trouble free machines and in my opinion are worth the money.

And when your Vortex required a 'well oiled mechanic' on 24/7 duty + Jim Martin on your quick dial, did you consider that part of the deal? Where you happy about it?

I wouldn't have.

Asking for machines to be well made is a reasonable request. Giving feedback about it is to be encouraged. Understanding who it comes from and how heavy was the work load on said machine is also important.

Unless, of course, it is the self interest in you speaking.

I made around 6 or 7 of them and that's it.

Well put Ofer. Just one year without problems shouldn't be a big expectation.Replacing all the major components is at best irritating, at least ridiculous. I've bought used machines and had better luck than with either Worrier. The shrouded vacs get way too hot as far as I can guess and cause all the premature failure. It's not just that, it's the condom strength rubber straps for the wand, the inability to put a spout on the drain valve, the automotive fuse that makes little sense, the first ones that came out with that shitty white rectified dc motor,the screw on lid for the vacuum chamber that cracks, the skinny low gauge cords, and on and on.

Yes, I do use my machine. That's what it's supposed to be made for.

Faster drying times. The Ninja Warrior uses a parallel vacuum motor system which delivers up to a 25% greater solution recovery rate than series vacuum motor systems.

It'd be OK if the motors lasted more than 8 to 9 months. Find another way instead of shrouding them to fry to a crisp. I couldn't imagine how fast shit would go with a heater in the compartment.

That'd be great if the unit lined up. The studs get scraped and thread on it gets hooped after a short bit.

I used to work for what I thought was a cranky old bag for a building manager. Pissed me off quite a bit, but I eventually learned if I could make Joan's standards and apply them, I would be a better cleaner because deep down I knew she was right. Despite you protecting an advertiser, I know what I've posted to be right.

You put more hours on yours than most. Have you done a rough calculation on the time you're putting on those components?
I don't think they are as much crappy as they are getting worn out.

Nope.And while I do put some hours on it, I also use my helper quite a bit so I can Chavez around instead of being in the field all the time.I'm only doing 1 apartment today while he does the common areas in a complex I contract to. And then there's the slow season to consider.

"Portables are toys for little boys", they are not built like a TM......fortunately they don't cost like a TM.

IF I had to clean with one everyday (and could keep from slashing my wrists) I'd replace it every year. Chalk it up to being a wear item.

4-6 hours a day x 5-days a week. 1500-1600 hours a year? :eekk:

As you well know, some of the units are better made and better designed than others. Yes, a portable will not last as long as a truck mount. Though some here claim it could.

If units cost about the same price you'd expect them to last pretty much the same amount of time. They don't always do.

How hard is that to understand?

Some develop issues pretty quickly and some are laid out better. I do not put tons of hours on my machine, as I would do anything within reason to use my truck mount. And still had to deal with issues.

Yes, I chuck it to the cost of doing business.
No, I am not happy about it.

Because I've used his cool cuffs for a long time and they don't break and function great day in and day out. Unlike some of the imitation.
Good products deserve the praise and our financial support. Because in the long run, they don't cost us more, they save us time and money.

Ofer they are glorified rug doctors. A box, a pump and a couple of vac's and you qualify as a SEMI-professional.

Premature wear an issue? I think manufacturers are packing too much, into too tight an area and expect a computer fan to cool the chamber. That heat cannot be good for the life of the components. :eekk:

As a manufacturer, I can understand every now and then an uneducated user running a machine (either TM, or portable; doesn't matter) and complaining for whatever reason ("We guarantee our product to be fool proof; not idiot proof") ; however, someone as knowledgeable as yourself should not have to stand for problems. In todays day and age I have a hard time understanding why purchasers consider, as on another board(!!) a particular make/model that has consistently had switches, vacuum motors, etc....burning up. I'm even aware of a few burning up to a crisp!

The Professional cleaner IMHO, should not stand for that because they deserve a "portable" ( or any other machine) that is built in a heavy duty design---INDUSTRIAL----a BIG difference from the generic "Mee-Too squirt and suck" thrown together extractors. Constant & continual Refinement(s) is the name of the game if anyone is going to achieve perfection and reliability, period. Nothing else.

Its not what I would prefer BUT if I can't use a TM I'd use OP before a portable.

It will look as good (most likely better) and dry much much faster. :icon_cool:

If I use a TM and a powerhead do I think I can out clean most guys? Yes sir I do.

I think I can even out clean those using TM's with a wand only.

That's why if I can't clean it without a TM I'd just as soon leave it for you hacks with the porty's!

We don't use Encap or OP in residential and we are fortunate in many ways not to have many tall buildings. So we HWE the soiled stuff and maintain appearance with low moisture. Both Encap and OP.

One of these days I'll need to get a couple of extractors but I think I'd like Tsunami or a Demon.
