Before I get tackled with arguing on here, let me state my reason for competition:

I've watched TOO MANY videos on Freaking Facebook with everyone and their zippers cleaning carpet. No offense guys, but there's more to carpet cleaning than your zipper. I have no negative feelings toward Zipper and it's maker. In fact, I know for certain it's a good tool, and a saver on the hip, back, shoulder and tendons in the arm. That alone is a reason to buy this thing.

BUT, I don't know if it's faster than a wand with medium high flow (over 8flow). Because in the videos, it doesn't look any faster than what I can do with my wand.

So let's set the rules, because I can't do it any other way, LOL.
1. Handle the Zipper and hose with one man only
2. The carpet has to be a very dirty, neglected rental or similar
3. Dry time? It just has to be dry to the touch
4. Compete in the same size room. Average 15X15 empty residential setting
5. Water pressure is up to the operator of the tool.

Let's have fun

I only use my Zipper on commercial jobs and it's definitely faster than my ti wand on commercial work.
I agree that Zipper is always faster on commercial. Prefer rotary extraction to a wand on many residential. And yes, a wander is faster on residential than a zipper or rotary--just doesn't clean as well.

It's not faster in residential. I only use it on large open rooms where it's other strengths make it worthwhile. In commercial, it's way, way faster. Faster even then the Cimex if used properly.

I don't see anything being faster than my Mach15 at 9.5flow. And yes, it does do a cleaner faster than what I feel to be any other tool.

But let's stick on the Zipper.

My mach came with 7.5 flow, and I bumped it up to 9.5. I turned it up from 500 to 600psi after I upped the flow and it's amazing how fast I finish a room. My dry times are awesome also.

As soon as I get a good room to video, I'll put it on here and let the fellow Mikey Members do the judging. I hope to see the same with a Zipper competitor.

As for Nashville...I'll try my hardest to bring my setup up there and compete with the Zipper and the Devastator. I'm excited just thinking about it

OH! and one more rule I forgot.

There has to be a minimum of 100ft. Vacuum and solution hose. I don't think it would be fair if one person did the video with just a 50ft hose, because we all know that it would have better suction than the 100ft of any tool

you could easily be the same speed on dirty resi carpet but the zipper will easily win in dry times. I guess depending on which tm and set up you are running..
That's why I brought this up. My dry times are awesome. I want to put the zipper to the test on my setup and see if someone's similar setup with a zipper is better.

Matt, are you using a Rotary Extractor for the dirty ones?

And you are what 6'5'' and you are using the Mach 15? That is the same wand I use at 5'7''
did you get an extended wand ?

No way.
What's Matt's qualifications?

No knock on Mr. Wood, but just like the real deal, MB Olympics, require a trial to qualify. Us, single wand slingers want a champion to represent us. There's a lot at stake here.

My money is on the Saiger's carpet cleaning toddlers. They've been holding a wand practically since inception. Chavez of yester years may have qualified, but all his energy these days is directed towards lewd postings.

Hey now! You think that is easy? I'll have you know I stay up late just working on my material.

Yep, porn every night! I wouldn't do that for just anyone, but ya'll are worth it to me. :winky:

Count me in!

This is my contest! :icon_twisted:

I got this! :)

And until then.....

Reveal at about 5:26 in the video ....

And the boy wonder.....

And a slow video of how we clean residential...but I still use the Zipper in occupied residential ...Daily :yoda:

And....just to let you know....today...while I was out cleaning "Occupied residential with the Zipper Wand"

Aron and Austin knocked out 20,000 plus square feet of carpet with 3 different tear down and set up (and some furniture moving) with one Zipper wand and one Butler (at .32 cents per sq foot too)

We finish 5 classrooms tomorrow afternoon and submit the invoice....BOOM! (taking it downtown )

Where can we get this party started :)

I am in no way gonna take away from the Zipper.

Tools that are made by carpet cleaners that clean more than likely came up and designed and built a tool that solved a problem they were having in THERE work load while they were cleaning.

Like us and the filter, some can use a poolie and have no problems at all, but for us....you know those filthy carpets that always show up at the show to test tools on....shoot those are my everydays, so I was told to solve the problem.

Erik has built a incredible tool, I don't think it could be built to a higher quality, its performance is VERY good, but Erik was doing a ton of CGD or large open areas, hell yes he nailed it 100%

I did buy a zipper but for the everyday type of cleaning it just didn't fit in, I did sell it just because I just didn't use it enough, In all honesty I WISH I HAD the work that it was really designed for.

I am NOT saying it cant be used in resi work but I am a wand pusher, I hate it when I have to break out the 175 or my old school Dual head RV, I just love to clean with a wand. I have a routine and I make great time, and can clean some of natiest of carpets with just a wand.

Now that I am working on my very own wand I am trying to make it perform for my cleaning situations, and I think I am making great progress, soon I will find out if what I have built makes other cleaners happy too??

I am not a vet, in this industry, but I can say agitation is # 1, It fits in with the biggest TM and also the smallest porty units and makes both types clean very well. I don't have a supply house of chems in my van...I have what works and I very seldom stray UNLESS someone I trust tells me I need to give a chem a try.
What I can say is this, if you have gained good knowledge and are getting great results with a wand, a Zipper will make you more than likely happy, if you are a cleaner that goes for a grandi groomer, or 175, and you are up in the air on a rotary like 360i or zipper I would say go with 360i
That is just my honest answer and IN NO WAY TALKING trash about the Zipper

The zipper will be the fastest every time in any situation to time till carpet is dry. For splash and dash with4-8 hour dry times you can kill some major footage pretty easy with a prochem Ti.

I'm not a veteran, but I'm in my prime years of knowledge and strength in this business. I've been wand slinging for 15 years one man operation with a truck mount that can make some druel when they see the heat and hear the massive amount of water shoot through the hose, only to see my customer be surprised over how fast it's drying and how soft it feels.

I know I'm a newbie on here, but I'm not a newbie in the carpet cleaning business. Since I bucked up to the Zipper, believe me, I can put it to the test. You'll be impressed when you see my vid.

Plus, I don't cut corners by cutting triangles in the carpet, I never did. I like to make it look new, not clean
