Seriously, I don't see a need for encapping for wicking. I use only HWE and I don't have any issues with wicking, although in commercial I've had reoccurring stains where there were alot of pop spills. I have at the most 1 callback a year, so if you get the carpet dry, you shouldn't have a problem.

Really. I've never seen a need to encap/surround some goo in a carpet that should be flushed out properly. Why encap some poor bastard's house at all. The encap process is intended for a large area commercial setting where it's just not practical to do a thorough cleaning. It's not meant for residential work. The encap salespeople will even tell you that. Even Greg Cole wouldn't do what you are talking about, and that's saying a lot.

I must admit that I like the idea of his making himself different. Encapping residential carpet? You would think that I wouldn't already be encouraging contractors to do it??

The encaping part to me is just the cleaning solution used. If you can leave a little behind that keeps working and doesn't cause any adverse side effects then why not?
You can encap after HWE but I will be doing it while I am bonnet cleaning with the Orbot.

The dirt will be removed....but the encap will help the carpet when I leave....whether it needs it or not.

I think everyone thought I would just go in, vac, spray some encap, scrub it in and leave.

Then turn the shower OFF...and AIR-DRY...NO TOWEL... :idea:

Now do this for a WEEK...ONCE A DAY...And get back to us.... :roll:

there is a world of difference in "padcapping", which is simply bonnet cleaning, and scrub 'n run encRaping...with or without a good vac.

With your roots as a Chem-lie cleaner, I can understand you seeing some virtues to spray 'n wipe method...with or without the pixie dust pOlymEr

...cause you'd make MORE profit by cleaning "right" with a TM, then selling protectant


You'll be selling towel twirling like every other bonnet/pad cleaner or you'll be scrub 'n running.
Which IDGAS either way, (though I DO think anyone the scrub 'n runs a "residential" is a bit of a crEEp)

I always do. The Grease Eraser I use even calls for it. The only time I put crap in my rinse is when I'm doing a greasy restaurant carpet, then I use Bob's favorite, Deluxe Super Clean.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread at all.... But I was on my last job today, and as I was heading out to the van I saw a guy (made eye contact, deer in the headlights look) doing flyers. I was intrested to see what he was advertising,and with the winds at 10-20, (always go out at 5-10 or under) I knew I would find them blowing around. I took the long way out of the subdivision, and found a flyer out of the box.

This guy isn't even IICRC certifed. :roll:

Oh well.. I tried, but my account here is jacked up... Can't post pics ect... Funny flyer though.
