Just a point of clarification: Their is no such thing as "slander or defamation of character" against a company. Anyone can give there opinion, prediction etc. regardless of how wrong they may be without fear of being sued. All these idiots threatening litigation to stop criticism of their product or service are just plain foolish. The Video professor tried suing several hundred people for calling his company a scam & criminal operation on various BBs. He ended up paying a settlement when they counter claimed and got stuck picking up their legal fees for abusing the system.

Threatening legal action over criticism of your business just identifies you as a total fool, and an uneducated one at that.

If everyone that threatened to sue Mikey actually had grounds, he would be living in the back of that Big truck. The Walmart parking lot would be his front yard.

I wonder if EZ Truckmounts is listening?
and Chem Who
and ***
I know Vortex is..

thanks Randy, that made my day.

Word I got was they sold off there direct drives to someone. The direct drives were there bread and butter anyway's. That's what I've been told. So if that's true does selling off the biggest part of the company constitute going out of business? I guess we'll hear something soon, I think within the next couple weeks.

prochem should buy the WM direct drive designs and inventory

they're probably the largest manufacturer that doesn't offer a PTO/direct drive carpet cleaning system

oops, I missed that addition to their product line... I remember trying the old Prochem PTO back in 2001 before they discontinued making it

I'm glad that WM 1200 direct drive series will hopefully live on for all the people that use them now

Hum, I do hope they arent' out of business and thus loose all parts support for my CommanderHO. I blew a heat exchanger last week and had to install my propane heater to get my heat back. Last Thursday when it happened I called Central Cleaning Supply here in Sacto and they made no mention of WM closing. I didn't see this thread until last night and aside from the drama it's potentially very disturbing. But......

If (???) it ever happened that parts support died I can assist Commander owners out there on some vital component identification and sources such as the thermostat controls. The vacuum pods & heat exchangers have immediate outsourcing, no problem. Engine, pump, blower, hoses, unloader and all that stuff have immediate sourcing as well. All the welded assemblies (tanks and such) can be repaired quite well in most metro areas.

Yes I'm well aware that many folks out there aren't as handy as some and would need "complete" support of their truck mount. But if this all goes from rumor to bad to worse, I'm certainly not going to lay down and walk away from my slide in. Hell no. I'm already in contact with a guy who just might have a huge solution to my heat exchanger assemblies, and a good chance it would have much better performance then factory.

It's all farm equipment in the end and can be kept running easier then we think. Let's all take a deep breath and sip our ale slooooooowly.

I didn't read the whole thread...has this been said yet?

"white magic was purchased by saphire scientific and will be moving their manufacturing plant to arizona
the buyer wanted a good direct drive to round out the truckmount line
so i've been told"

Thanks for the tip Jim. I have my propane pressure washer heater back in my van as my heat source. I'm sure as the weeks go by we will all see what happens to WM.

Well, when I was in The market for my first Direct Drive, I traveled to Butler and then White Magic in Salisbury MA back in late 2001

Butler was pristine and organized with an impressive tour of their entire manufacturing plant.

White Magic was an absolute dump, filthy and disorganized . Their demo truck consisted of a beat up box truck with 4 units in it with grease and oil on the floor. The dipshit salesman was smoking while we tried out the units

I‘m surprised White Magic lasted 9 years after I toured their ‘landfill’

I vaguely recall this whole deal.

Art still lurks but all the rest of the WM loyalist kinda sorta moved on rather than admit they were wrong or lying...

It was a fun read!! Mike you really let some people have it!!

I especially liked to see Ken's comments. Not for the content, but just a reconnect of sorts.

I agree about the Butler operation. I picked up a truck mount from them back in 1983 and their place was immaculate even back then.

I had a not so white magic PRO 1700 . It was a slide in water cooled Kaw 27 hp. just would not run something to do with a plastic gear in the motor. This was in the early 90's. My area did not have a service person but they said never any problems. I used my porty more than the white magic. While it was still new I paid to have the engine fixed then sold it. I felt like a boat owner. Hey yea its gone. jz
