Re: Vortex got evicted... NOW I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

George if that guy is pissed at you he will just find something else to aggravate you with. Maybe get someone to mediate your differences. Its seems to me that the differences are not just about your truck. Otherwise you might as well look for a place to park the truck or move. You'll never have any peace unless you do one of the three.

I cleaned my carpet last night drove up on the grass with the Butler and pulled right up to the back deck.

I (had my guy) clean my carpet last night (after hours under the table) drove up on the grass (note here not lawn just grass) and pulled up to the back deck(where the mexican jamboree entertained them with everything free in america

Doug + george you are a cop outs. Make an excuse for working a job and insulting more successful people as you go.

i have chosen to work a little less, and be with the family more(or when the time comes, kids activitys and such)

Who said you have to work harder? Who said you had to get into a family? Who said biggest businesses are out of households? You are jealous

I have a great friend who looks at me and asks "how can you make enough money doing what you do?" He has a slush fund of $40,000 a monthand his real business did $100,000,000 in sales last year and he works a day or two a week. He never really worked more than 40 hrs and is very successful. Another guy I know has a huge CC company and comes and goes as he pleases and gets the highest prices in my area. I just brought myself to close to 40 hrs a week, have a huge shop and just stopped rug cleaning. how can so many others do it but with your infinite wisdom and insults you can't

Nope no wisdom.... I just choose not to deal with that side of the business....multiple employees, trucks, PITA clients to get to that point....

I aint saying one is right or wrong....HOWEVER dont tell me mine is wrong either..

you can shake it anyway you want to.....but there will always be the little guy that says leave me the F alone.....and there will always be the big guy saying, awww quit being a cry baby, you just dont understand....

as the wife and i have said

can we agree that we disagree???

and for the record.....the A-hole he is dealing with...i have them around here to.....and if they are an a-hole job....i fire them....

YOU'RE WRONG!

Doug you're doing what you see as best for your wife, your children and yourself. How could that ever be seen as wrong.

Spend the time with them while they are young, times flies by fast. 8)

you chose to criticize others and give a cop out excuse. I just called you on it. I never worked long hours in this business, my biggest thing was trying to work long hours and you insult successful people and then try to tell them why they are successful and why you are not... It is ludicrous

Roots? Hey I'm brown but not dark brown. :p

Sorry but actually I agree with Ken.

Well sort of, not for you guys, you're my friends but I would like to see my competitors have to suffer a little overhead pain too.

With higher overhead they will need to raise their prices which should allow us to be more competitive with them. Right now they can be cheaper than us and still come home with more money than us charging a higher rate.

I want to know more about Ken's hatred of home ran businesses ..

Did mommy ruin his childhood with all the cheek pinching ol'bittys coming over to stock up on Mary Kay products?

Or did daddy run a doggy porn studio in his garage?

ohh i agree i would love to charge higher prices and have a shop....but i dont want to work that hard sifting through the rubble to get there....and pretty much my main aim is on the upper lower class, to the low higher class...did that make sense

If I mistakenly gave the impression of home based businesses being bad I regret that. Not what I meant at all. The topic was knowingly breaking the rules and/or laws and this is where I would draw the line and commend those for speaking out against it.

Ken
Ps It would technically be my ex grandfather in law & to my knowledge he never broke a single law or rule in his life.

That's good to hear. Your previous post said in caps ALL o/p who work from home. Maybe where you live its against the rules/law to work from home but not everywhere.

I work from home AND I have a business license and the blessing of my town and neighbors. No rules/laws broken.

In the city I live in if you want to start a business from home you apply with the city and then the city puts a sign in your yard for 10 days giving any neighbors notice and the opportunity to look at the application and dispute if they want.

Thanks Larry, cause I rarely go back and re-read what I wrote or other write~ too adhd. I really meant commercial businesses being run out of the home, not a "home based" business like Mikey thinks I was traumatized by lol.

This is why I will choose to live in communities that do have these rules. What joey did seems fine to me. I am specifically talking about home businesses that have service vehicles coming and going (or running, in rug cleaning case) at potentially all hours of the day. To each his own, just saying what I would do and where I would choose to live. Call me arrogant if you'd like, that is cool. I would just prefer to live where there is an apparant separation of work & home life. For others there are areas where this may not be an issue and they can live there.

Re: Vortex got evicted... NOW I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a pretty open guy Doug, feel free to ask me most any question either publicly or in a pm. The fact that I am in a 3rd generation family business is 32 year old news. I let go most of my defensiveness about it 20+ years ago.

Ken you should work in a cameo on Hardcore Pawn.

Maybe you could pawn some equipment.

I bet that would be the best advertising dollars you could spend.

geez IMO George is wrong in this situation and know amount of campaigning is going to get the HOA to allow him to park his albatross on his property

how did this become a "Ken married himself to the top thread???"

catty lil bitches .... LOL

On my property, I have taken great precautions to prevent any issues with my neighbors over my 2 vans being garaged at my house.

My yard is professionally landscaped, no vehicles are ever left on the street, and there are no visible signs of a business from the outside of my home.

Nope not arrogant, but you did come across as such....

hey there are days i wish i worked a 9-5 and leave my shit at work, or let someone else deal with issues...but I have CHOSE not to, my choice. And I comend you for running what you do...Some times (you have to admit) a lot of successful people tend to forget what got them there...And much to Gregs offense (though the question was at you   ) he thought my question was not merited

Re: Vortex got evicted... NOW I'M PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL... Yes his property... Many of you clowns don't get it.

Yes it is his property, but he gave up some rights of use of his property when he bought in to a PUD with an HOA.

Had he bought elsewhere the only rules or laws he would have to abide by are local, state, federal. But he opted to add another layer of rules by buying into a piece of property with CC&Rs.

Funny how some think... OH IT IS MY PROPERTY.. I'll do what I want..
NOT..

I hope he gets voted in as prez....

PITA, I was HOA Prez for 2 years 100 homes. 2000-4500 sq ft homes.

He will quickly learn how catty people can be, and he will learn of other violations he will have to enforce besides his truck..
